Can anyone explain how Nate Schmidt's suspension is even remotely related to this? Dont get me wrong sucks he got suspended but i mean its a completely different thing to be suspended for PEDs and to be suspended for trying to decapitate an unsuspecting player on the ice. Not thrilled that his suspension was cut short but also no surprised cause the NHL cant seem to get anything right regard DoPS. Wilson likely wont change and will be right back in the same spot before the end of the year.

With the exception of the times he crosses the line (which are far too many) , Wilson plays the game with toughness which is something that has been almost completely removed from hockey. I like his style and wish there was more of it. Every team in the league would take him if the opportunity existed. He just has to stop being a bonehead or his NHL career may very well be in jeopardy.

I overgeneralized saying DoPs i should have said regarding how the league as a whole is handling illegal checks to the head. But are you really gonna sit there and tell me its more likely Wilson doesn't do this again as opposed to doing it again and being removed from the league?

I get the suspension, but there wouldn't have been a head shot if the guy prepares himself for the hit instead of a desparate shot on net.

what a total joke. i dont care if its a 3rd party arbitrator. guys like parros and daly wont change either. terrible message sent regardless of who sent it. i hope the NHL gets hit in the wallet so they get the message because the goon squad isnt. that old "dont put yourself in that position" crap is over.

I dont pay to see matt cooke, tom wilson, etc skate. i want to see the talent on the ice. not some caveman who chicken wings someone because he cant skate as fast. Wilson is a hard learner. he will do it again and potentially end someones career.

I hardly doubt all teams would take him at his cap hit now. The hope is that he can be a lucic-type in his prime. If he neuters his game, will he even be effective in the top-6 anymore? I have my doubts. Wilson has been bad his whole NHL career until last year.

Obviously as a Caps fan, I would like him to earn that 5 million dollar cap hit, but it's just as likely he is going to hit someone in the head and be suspended, or be an anchor 5v5 because he can't play his reckless style.
