He's in the "builder" category. Guys who are still working NHL jobs get elected as builders all the frikkin' time.
FFS, Bettman has done more to build up the NHL footprint in the US than any other NHL (be it President or Commissioner).
I know you think it's cool to hate Bettman and blame him for everything from the instigator rule (not Bettman) to your own inability to get a prom date, but in reality, he's done enough to be elected to the HHOF. |

I'm not so ignorant to think he's the big bad Badman. He is just doing what the owners hired him to. I still will dislike him eternally for being the face of three lockouts and one lost season. I don't care to concern myself with the business end of things. I'm a fan, all I want is to watch hockey. |
