I really like the trade. I will definitely miss Hagelin though. A player who I enjoyed watching while he was a here. Unsung player on the Cup championships.

The Hagelin for Pearson trade looks pretty good to me. Yes, Pearson is a reclamation project but a former 1st rounder (#30 in 2012) with two 40 point seasons under his belt on an offensively starved Kings team for a 30 year old former 6th rounder who's never scored 40 points in a season.

Furthermore, Pearson scored 15 goals last year. Hagelin scored 17 total his last 3 seasons.

There was a point in the game last night where he looked like he was trying to shake something off.

He crashed hard against the boards on that second goal. I wonder if it happened then?

Pearson is going to be good in Pitts. Good trade for Pitts. I dont like this for LA and it isnt because Hagelin isnt a good player. I just expected maybe draft picks. Or Pearson packaged in a different type of trade. Dont let this season be what you look at with Pearson. Hes got good wheels and a really nice shot. Feels like poor asset management imo.

Hags noooooooo...I really thought he was the only player who brought a consistent high battle level game to game, plus that world class speed and PKing...its not his fault he has hands of stone.

I dont understand why it didnt cost the Pens at least a pick on top as well....Pearson is signed for 2 more season, Hags is UFA.

Read on a Kings insider twitter that its confirmed LA did this trade to clear cap space through 2021. Just poor asset management. They literally just gave him away.

Pearson has 1 point in 17 games, Hagelin has 3 in 16 games...playing mostly with Geno and the Thrill, which makes that only 3 points even crazier for 4 mill this year.

Who was Pearson mainly deployed with so far this season?

He was kind of all over the line up. But some with Carter and others with pure bottom 6 guys.

Im obviously not as well versed and knowledgeable on the Kings as you but isnt there older-similar-cap-hit-sooner-to-be-UFA players they could of unloaded?

This is probably their first move of many, or at least a few.

Not really. Hes the longest term at the forward position other than Kopi, Kovi, Brown and Carter. And the bigger cap hit of the other 2 below him that have 2 yrs left.

Kempe and Toffoli are his two most common linemates.

I remember wanting to take a look at Pearson back in 2014/2015 when we were stalling out hard and had no young talent. I remember a lot of people saying that we couldn't get him for any of the expendable assets we had available. Imagine getting him a couple years down the road for an expiring Carl Hagelin contract. This is an awesome trade. I don't think it moves the needle or anything, but I only see positives here.

OK ok makes a bit more sense.

Why are the King's trying to unload payroll/cap hit now all of a sudden?... How's their attendance been this season?
