In Philly, right now, you fire the coach and have the new one here to run practice on Monday.

Two of the last three games were a complete disgrace. Even Giroux, who keeps his cool pretty well in interviews was pissed, and he was not pointing at Hakstol, he was pointing at his teammates...well....He and Simmonds and Voracek and Couturier have gotten several coaches fired as the core of this team by their long stretches of inconsistent play and starting games flat. That is the core of the team. This behavior dates back to them becoming the core of the team.

Keep Giroux, Keep Cooter, Keep Provorov and Patrick...the rest are on the market.

As for coaches, I don't think the Post Snider corporate Flyers will spend the money needed to bring in a coach Q. They will spend money no Gritty...but not the team. Ed Snider would light Gritty on fire to win a playoff series.

you change a coach when you have had years of the same type of inconsistent play. When nothing has improved.the team continues to make the same mistakes. The penalty kill system has been a joke, the powerplay has been crap. They havent had any identity of what kind of team this is.Regardless of the goaltending issues, the players compete level should never drop to a level the flyers were playing last night.Forget last night it has happened too many times this year.

Philly's biggest issue is goaltending. The guys pencilled in for starter and backup are both hurt. Both the guys in uniform were in the AHL last year. At this point their next option is putting the pads on Gritty. Can you blame the coach for that?

It is beyond time to fire Hakstol for the simple reason of accountability. Whether the Flyers failures arenhis fault or not, someone needs to be accountable. The team that showed up last night in Toronto was not prepared to play. It was an embarassment to a once proud organization.

Goaltending is the easy excuse for this team...does it suck...yes, but did you see the game last night? They were not even competitive. And last nights performance was not an individual case....in this week alone.

How is Carolina able to win with their three headed goalie monster?

Tampa hasn't missed a beat with Louis Domingue

Even Chicago with Carolina cast-off has been more competitive than Philadelphia

Again, i am not excusing the pathetic excuse for goaltending but there is more going on with this team than goaltending

I always thought Hakstol was our version of Mike Johnston. In over his head.

Johnnson for Porovrov. We'll take that horrible D'man off of the Flyers hands as a favour.

It's time to change a coach when he gets in the way of the organization's goals. Weather that's to win, development, play system, player morale ,ect. There have been 4 coaches fired and it hasn't helped any of them. But the in LA, Chicago, and St Louis it seem they were tring to change just for change sake. Basically a hail mary. In Edmonton at least the hired Hitchcock. Good or bad at least the Oilers are tring to change the culture. So good for them.

Carolina's defense. More than half the league should be jealous of it. I'd sell all the magic beans in the factory for it.

Have to agree with the above, blaming the goaltending is an easy excuse on this one. The goalies are the last line of defence, not the only one. The Leafs outworked the Flyers all night. Turnovers, not skating, blown coverages... it was very strange to watch. It was as if the players enmass mailed it in on the coach.

Now if the core is bad then you have to change the core. That is on Hextall, but I don't thnk he is the type to sit back and take games of no showing effort and let it ride. Hextall is too passionate and fiesty for that. And I think the excuse of injuries only goes so far, as every team has a bad game or loses key players.

I think a major shake up is in order, but it will start with Hextall making a coaching change, and then from there roster moves perhaps. After that, Hextall's neck has to be on the chopping block if they can't find an overall better effort game in and game out.

Hakstol has to be fired today. Hextall is patient but patience always has a limit. To me Flyers have a few holes to fill.

They need to clean house of the couching staff. No one keeps their job

They need #2 C. Patrick is not ready.

They need a Goalie but i feel that will b addressed during fa period

Provorov needs a longer stick. Ever since it was mentioned i have noticed the similarity to the hunchback of Notre Dame

Giroux should be looking in the mirror. His line was on the ice for 3 goals against and Giroux did not bust it to get back defensively on any of those plays. This team glides back defensively on a routine basis and it's the teams better players setting that example.

So what was the difference in how Hakstol prepared the team to play the Rangers versus how he prepared the team to play the Leafs?

How does giroux stop 3 awful five hole goals? Your boas against Giroux is ridiculous. Ibthink u are the one that needs to look in the mirror.

Girouxs line is the only one that had consistent pressure and scoring chances

The Flyers aren't getting close to NHL caliber goaltending. That's what is killing the team right now. They're hardly perfect in other aspects of the game, but the puck stopping is so bad right now it just has to be addressed.
