My sense is that the Coyotes have known for a year that they would likely be the team moving to the Central Division once Seattle begins play but I’m not sure how thrilled Arizona is about it ... owner Andrew Barroway declined comment when I asked him after the BOG Day 1 meeting
As somebody who has had some unusual and grotesque eye injuries and still is fortunate enough to have 20/20 vision I'll just say that I recall one of my doctors saying that the eye is apparently better at recovering than nearly every other body part...somebody smarter or more interested than me is welcome to correct me if wrong
Correct on the eye recovering quickly. I've had visual problems from a concussion, but that's brain related. I've taken a stick to the eye and been fine within about a week....I mean, I had a nice black eye for almost a month, buy my vision was clear pretty quickly.
Oh, and in response to why players don't wear full shields... It's simple...they fog. I wear the Oakley half shield that has a cutout for the nose. It'll still fog up after about 45 - 50 minutes. As far as cages go, once you play a few months without one it's hard to ever put one on again. Although, I feel like making cages manditory would be the way to go

You have to believe that today's technology could come up with a way to prevent the fogging.
I have watched Conor Garland play in the AHL. He is undersized. But he was BY FAr the most talented player on the ice. I can't imagine why he is still in the AHL. I'll be watching to see how he does in the NHL. I imagine he'll be just fine if he can take a hit. No one in San Diego could catch him for me to witness it.

It's because he is under-talented for his size. I've watched him for 3 years here in Tucson. He's been in the shadows of Perlini, Strome, Fischer, Bunting, Dauphin and others in previous years. His biggest asset is that he plays with a ton of heart, grit, shifty and never takes a shift off. He does know how to slip through a check. Usually. His go-to move for avoiding a hit is to drop low. One of these days someone is going to catch his head with a hip against the boards. It does seem like he's starting to put it all together this season (tied for team lead in goals). I wish him well with the big club.

In Barroway's defence, LeBrun left a message asking for comment, and Barroway couldn't afford to call long distance to respond to the question.
It's a matter of time until a kid from college team wears a full visor in the NHL - jcragcrumple
There's a Junior B league in British Columbia (KIJHL) that mandated full cages under the premise there will be a reduction in injuries (and in turn reduce insurance costs). Its currently being challenged. My son plays and has had more injuries from high hits an high sticks then when he wore a shield.

Lemon pledge... ya the furniture polish. Spray it inside and out, leave it on for a few minutes and wipe off. no more fogging AND you smell lemony fresh!

Just out of curiosity, what do you think the correlation is between cages and increased injuries? Players maybe feel more protected and are now more careless with sticks, hits, etc.?

100%.
My kid says the chirping is ten-fold as well as you can no longer drop the gloves. He's had his mouth cut up twice and under his nose once. Luckily no teeth. No facial injuries last season with the visor.
I have the opinion that if you are under age (16-17) playing Junior, cages should be mandatory. But if you're 18-20... really?
