100 miles is not very much. Are you saying Ontario is only 100 square miles? I didn't mean put 2 more teams downtown Toronto. I am sure Ontario could fit a couple more teams.

How far away do you think NYC or the Prudential center is from Philly? How far away do you think Anaheim is away from LA? The big markets in the US tend to have multiple teams in close proximity. So your reasoning wouldn't make sense unless....a team wanted to have control over a much larger territory than everyone else.

Radius. Not square miles which would be 10x10 miles. And inthinknthenradius is 75 miles not 100.

First of all, it's a Province, not a providence. Secondly, square miles don't buy seats - people do. The only two GMAs that have more than 1 team are LA (18.7 million people) with 2 and NY (20.3 million people) with 3 teams. The Toronto GMA has 5.9 million people so I'm not following your logic, if any.

The GTA is 6.4 million which is what we should really be talking about here. Then again, we should expand it to include the Hamilton area (aka GTHA) and now you're up to 7.1 mil. Add in the Tri-Cities (Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge) and we're at 7.6 mil.

Now consider the insanity of hockey in this region and the fact that the waiting list for season tickets for the Maple Leafs is between 15-20 years and you might start to see that Toronto could very easily support an additional team.

If they do decide to put another team in Ontario-i-o they should consider Barrie, or between Barrie and Newmarket.

Everyone from North of Barrie would make the trip (Nord Baie, Suds etc). If it's another team down south its super annoying travelling down there, especially in the winter. Theres enough people and infrastructure in that area for it to be a success

The best chance of this happening is relocating The Sens, but they’re probably heading to Quebec within five years.

The only thing that can save Ottawa is for Melnyk to get the hell out of there. A broke meddling owner who’s burned a lot of bridges and who is despised by the fans and the community.

Mmmm new news came out about the Lebreton project...

Apparently theres a new uber rich dude who want to take over and do whatever it takes to get it done. Melnyk should sell the team tho, everyone hates him lol..

Meh....the Leafs love is too strong in the Barrie area. I think that there needs to be some sort of social separation or divide to have teams exist in close proximity. Some element that makes rivalry a tangible thing. Something that inspires fans to pick a side. I don't think that thing is strong enough in Barrie & Newmarket. In truth I really can't envision another team in Canada if it isn't in Quebec City. With perhaps an honourable mention to somewhere in the east coast because they don't think much of "mainlanders". But population density could be tricky out there.
