Is Nylander + a 1st way too much?

He’s a solid, smooth player, I’d love to add him

- sbroads24

I watched the Amerks play last night, and unless he just had a really bad game, Nylander is a bust. Missed a wide open net on a 2-0 breakaway; skating in “glide” mode; passes predictable and often didn’t get there; invisible in Rochester’s end.

There were at least 10 other AHL guys who were more impressive. If I saw it, real scouts already know it.

From now on, I’m not considering him an asset in the franchise.

That's too bad. I hope it was just a bad game. I'll check him out when he comes to Binghamton later this year. Was out of town for the last one, but doesn't look like I would have been happy.

What I'm a little shocked with is how Pilut really seems to have just vaulted over Guhle. It really looks like Pilut is ready.

Insanely small sample size but according to the eye ball test I'm putting him up over Beaulieu and (gasp) Nelson.

Pilut is a year and a half older than Guhle and he played in the Swedish Elite League for a few years.

Valid.

But some thought Guhle was ready and penciled him in prior to camp.

From the hype I thought he'd be up here.

I had the game on, but honestly wasn't really paying any attention to it. I mostly just had it on as background noise. However, a friend of mine texted me during the game saying that he saw on twitter that Nylander was having a good game. I personally didn't see it, but at least a few people liked what they saw (I should also premise this by saying he doesn't follow just random people, he follows all the sports guys, analysts, etc).

Not saying they're right and you're wrong or vice versa. Just interesting to see such different views.

Next 3 games are winnable and I totally expect the Swords to get back to their winning ways. There is a 5 point separation in the standings with TB.

And I haven't done a reverse prediction, that's why the Sabres have lost.

They need 5 points in this stretch.
2-0-1 is not too much to ask here, IMO.

Me too... then he took a massive step backwards.

He did have a great breakout pass on the Asplund to Goaloffson goal though.

Asplund and Oloffson on the other hand look like they are going to be good. It was nice to be able to catch an Amerks game on MSG last night.

5 points is a realistic goal. Then they have a back to back with @ Caps and @ Bruins so these next 3 are important.

Truth is Guhle has been a train wreck in his own zone this year and his offense has been inconsistent at best. He's been prone to turnovers this year and is not very physical. He's not processing anything quick enough in the d zone and makes wrong reads. His best attribute is his speed in transition. He needs to do better on his defensive game to be an NHL'er.

Broken record sure, but over a point a game, power play specialist (ours sucks), Sabres are off til Saturday which means there's plenty of time to practice. Trade/waive someone and call him up.

Not sure if you watched any of the game yesterday... but when him and Asplund are on the ice together it looks like NHLers playing high school kids.

Disappointing news. I was on Garth level of excitement for this kid.

I think if we are relatively healthy, winning and in a playoff position, guys like Olofsson will probably stay in Rochester. Let them continue down there, bond together, win games and develop. Once McCabe comes back, Pilut will probably go back down. I would rather see the kids in Rochester light it up and be a strong contender this year.

Totally forgot it was on, unfortunately. I watched the highlights. With Wilson getting close, Pominville coming back, Berglund is here, i know it's not gonna happen.

I didn't realize how good they really were until last night. I am going to that game on the 22nd for sure! I can't wait!

The only time he was noticeable to me last night was for something he did wrong.

And i can't say it enough when Asplund and Oloffson were on the ice you knew it!

He got off to a slow start in Cincy in the ECHL but I think he was goalie of the week there a few weeks ago. He's played well lately.
