I mentioned it before, but I would love to get Brian Boyle from NJ. He is a UFA and NJ has plenty of cap space. Maybe Shero likes Wilson from his time in Pittsburgh (he drafted him I believe. ) Maybe they even like someone like Okposo. Either way, any trade with NJ I think they should include Mike Grier who is an assistant coach there.

Unless Scandella is ready on Saturday, we could possibly see Tennyson recalled. Please god no.

The other possibility is for Borgen to get the call. I'd much rather see that to be honest.

McCabe is a big loss for us IMO. I think anyone can fill in for Scandella honestly... it cant get worse than what he has been this year.

Anyone know how long before games the Sabres start warm-ups? I have a couple friends with some young impressionable sons (in the 5 y.o. range) that are going on Saturday and want to see warm-ups.

I'll admit he was not good to start off the season. The first month was rough, but honestly over the last month (prior to his injury) I thought he was fine. That's not to say he's out there killing it or anything, but I haven't noticed him much, and for me, that's perfectly OK for someone on the blueline. I don't need him to be noticeable, just means his doing his overall job. Is some scoring nice? Sure, but that's not really what I'm looking for most of the time. Plus the rest of the guys back there have done plenty of that this season.

McCabe was looking good this year. Definitely better than last year. Bowl-u also looks much better this year. In fact every defenseman on the team looks better this year, in my opinion, except Scandella. He looks worse.

Usually about 30 mins before game time.

Personal story.
When I was 8 I got to sit in the penalty box with Doug Allen (National anthem guy) for warm ups. I was right in front of Biron, Satan, Kozlov etc. Was a super fun moment. Luckily my uncle's boss was one of the guys in the time box at the time.

This a deep draft if you want a C or wingers. Not so good if you’re looking for defense. I assume some defense man will be selected higher as well allowing for some really good prospects to fall right into our lap. Maybe why botts selected a few years worth of d-men in last years draft

- Pegullaville

is that why Botts loaded up on all the D last year?

Scandella has been out for a few games now. McCabe got hurt in the Tampa game and Nelson got hut during the Toronto game. Both McCabe and Nelson are listed on the injury report as week to week. Scandella is day to day.

Tennyson, but sorry i remembered wrong.

From the BN:

The Sabres assigned defenseman Matt Tennyson to the Rochester Americans on Wednesday.

Tennyson was recalled as insurance before Friday's game at Florida because Marco Scandella and Jake McCabe were sidelined. Scandella is on injured reserve and McCabe was out of the Sabres' lineup Tuesday against Toronto.

The move likely means McCabe or Scandella will be available for Saturday's Sabres game against Philadelphia. The Sabres could make another move if both are expected to be available. Lawrence Pilut has played in the last three games since getting called up from the AHL.

Berglund reminds me a lot of when we had Legwand. Good vet but nothing much more than a 4th line defensive plug.

Watched the third and overtime of the Blues v Oilers last night (Blues collapsed and lost in the shootout after holding a one goal lead into the third).

It was mentioned that the Blues have lost the most one goal games in the league this year. Didn't the Sabres have a similar stat last year? Regardless, winning "coin tosses" is what good teams do. I would really like to see the Sabres dominate a few of these upcoming games though.

I watched the blues/Oilers game too

They couldn't praise ror enough.

This trade is looking better every game.

Tage is playing well and has upside
St. Louis sucks and their pick will be better
Buffalo is winning without ror and couldn't with him
2019 draft is strong

Jbotts used his MBA wisely

About 40- 45 minutes early. I think they practice for about 15- 20 minutes. Sabres are warming up on the 122-123 end.

Yup, they were choking on his nut sac all night long. "every time I watch him I have the thought that he could have played in any era, that's how complete a player he is"

And I totally agree with you. He can go right ahead and lead that team into a rebuild.

Anyone consider McCabe an average top 4? I like him, but I'm not willing to go there yet.

He's an arb eligible RFA, with 1 year until UFA. Interesting contract to work out.

I think Stl wants that trade back already. You don't give up picks and prospects if you know you're going to stink.

I would assume so. Scouting departments are scouting kids from the ages of 16 up. Wouldn’t surprise me if our scouting staff had the foresight to draft heavy on d-men last year knowing this year they are hard to come by. D-men also take longer to develop so getting them in the system last year will be good for a guy like Samuelsson to be playing in the Sabres lineup on the cheap in 2020-2021 or 2021-2022 once all the big boys at all signed

Spot on .

Jbotts has a vision.
I'm sure they knew this year was thin on D. early.

I think they really wanted 1 of those islander defenders pick back to back last year too.

Here is Pronman's view of the 2019 draft class:

https://theathletic.com/5...s-for-the-2019-nhl-draft/

"My way too early assessment of the 2019 NHL Draft is that this is an above-average draft class. The class has a significant number of forwards who I think can be impact players. The talent up front, and particularly down the middle, is very strong; however, I don’t think this is a great draft if your team wants a defenseman."

We need more scoring from the C position. It's dry outside of Jack. I'm not going to Fitz, but we do need an offensive injection for the middle 6.

ROR has found his niche. he can help anytime find the need to rebuild. and shortly after they get rid of him that team gets better. maybe its just a coincidence, but if St. Louis trades him away and then they make a huge jump it would be hilarious
