I wouldn't mind some under the radar players who wont cost 8 million a year.
- Reveen.

That'd be great but they're not always available. Who specifically?

Now, because I enjoy doing this, for how to spend the remaining 8.8mil in UFA and trades:

Sooner than later, 2019 1st+Spooner for Stone and conditional 2020 2nd (only if he doesn't resign) then resign him for 8.8x8 (+5.7mil)

Nurse for either Nutivaara (-0.5mil) or- the more likely available- Savard (+1.05mil)

Nuge and Bear for Schwartz, Blais and a 2019 3rd (-0.65mil)

Puljujarvi for Jost (-1mil)

A backup (1.2mil)

Net cap expenditure = 6.885mil leaving 1.915mil in cap space for the PTO, bonus cushions and in-season trades.

- MaximumBone

That's not too shabby. I'd dig it.

I'd still rather do LD/Bear for Parayko/Schwartz in a heartbeat though.

Speaking of which, Droogie never responded back to any of our trade offers from yesterday.

As the Schwein said, we may be coming off as a tad bit desperate.

Would we rather pursue Stone or Panarin if somehow both became available?

Edit: As in which one would you acquire if you could only take one due to cap space.

Can you remove a troll from the Leafs thread? He’s been asked before by another ref to not post in there. Thanks.

Stone for his style of play and likely lower cap hit. His being Manitoba born helps, too.

If Vancouver offered Gagner for Russell would you do it ?
- Reveen.

Why would you want Gagner? You could of had him for free. Vancouver might take Russell though.

That and Blais / Benson.... too many question marks
- Reveen.

At least placing Benson on the 3rd line allows him to get his NHL feet under him as opposed to be expected to produce with McDavid or Drai right away....if he doesn’t do good we can always send him back and if he excels then that in itself is already an improvement over what any combo of our 3rd line we have going right now

Khaira is more or less a placeholder for anyone else who steps up. The bottom two lines are kinda more or less a training camp battle to see who takes the spot. If an offensive line can find chemistry and make it work then give em a shot, if not, run the Lucic-Brodziak-_____

When I see “run the Lucic” I want to follow it up with “straight out of town”

Not sure if StLouis would do this but what do you think about this...

St.Louis - D.Nurse & R.Spooner

Edmonton - C.Parayko

Essentially Spooner is there to even out the salaries and they could porbably use him to help them through injuries.

Yeah I love that deal for us but I just can’t see them doing it....they would likely ask for more....draft pick or prospect

Well if that’s the case then why not? Some of us are starting to sour on Nurse so we can call it a change of scenery trade....fresh starts for both

I think its a trade that could help both teams. Even if we had to toss in a mid round pick or something.
