Carol Schram: Nikolay Goldobin is back and Michael Del Zotto is out as Canucks host Preds Still searching for an elusive win, Travis Green has reinserted Nikolay Goldobin and Derrick Pouliot into his lineup as the Vancouver Canucks wrap up their five-game homestand with a visit from the Nashville Predators on Thursday.

Awesome Carol.

I'm guessing game is on blackout again for me. Oh well, saves me money on alcohol not watching.

Thanks Carol,

I think JV is my favorite story of the season. He’s probably Greens biggest success story too. He’s earned the top line minutes, but they didn’t come easy.

My PP2...

Gaudette JV Goldy
Edler EP

Goldy takes over as a 1/2 board leftie for EP
AG a rightie to get him some offence chances
EP the PPQB
JV screens & picks up the garbage
Edler moves the puck fast or 1 timer without delay

AG & JV can rotate out as righties on the left
EP & Goldy same on the right side

Thanks but I honestly wouldn't see more then 5 minutes of a period.

I need pause, rewind. Skip, forward through intermissions and commercials. I haven't sat down and watched a game in real time this season.

Well done Carol.

Just like last Dec will go 7-1 Preds.

Motte Bo JV would be an interesting line.
Good speed & good down low with grit & solid D. Thoughts?

Not according to Prock. JV is a complete bust apparently.

With the addition of super duper star, Goldobin, we should be able to win 4-1 Canucks.

Another line...

Roussel AG Motte sounds like a feisty mix

Goldy finds his accuracy & he can do it.
Playmaking is fine but still iffy at times so sniping will go along ways to make it tick.

Since we struggle without a point shot threat or get many garbage goals it comes to being lethal on sniping goals. Scoring off the rush is hard to do in todays game & we are not suited for it yet. Its rare we get odd man rushes & need accuracy & good ol dogging the puck to get our chances. Doesn’t help that our D don’t activate deep into the rush & open up east west chances.
We have the speed throughout the lines but our 5 man units are not scaring anyone.

EK would be worth going for if he hits the market. IMO he’s a bit lost in SJ with Burns there. I could be wrong but til he lights it up like he can i think the fit hasn’t worked out as well as some would’ve hoped. He’s an alpha type who needs to be da man.

And he needs someone to wipe his bum bum because he just poops all over the ice in his own end. Tanev could be that guy, but I think I'd rather Quinn be that all out offence guy and spend money elsewhere. Lots of nice UFA's this year. I also don't like the ego stuff that's come out of Ottawa since he left.

Signing EK would be idiotic. Overrated, injury prone and about to get overpaid

I hearya but i don’t get into ego stuff if it gets our scoring up. I look at the Leafs & see how having Reilly & Gardiner gets the breakouts going or they skate it out.

As for the big bucks yes that’s the big issue but we have the cap space. A bonus laden contract would be how to go maybe.

Pairings as follows

Edler EK
Hughes Tanev
Hutton EG
Stecher

Pouliot & MDZ gone for whatever

If no EK i’m fine but i still muse over it & try to find out how the dynamics might end up.

We have at least 10 more years of being a dumpster fire. If JB is still here longer then it will be 15 years.
