If a team is this badly out of sync because they added one of their better forwards, they got major problems.

They're playing like poop because they're taking the Red Wings lightly and they're being out worked. Why? Because they've been playing poorly for awhile and their goalie has been making 40 saves routinely, hiding their weak efforts / mistakes.

They've played a lot of games like this, the difference is, Andersen makes the saves and this game is 1-1 or 2-1 and they tie it and come back. When the safety net is removed, they poop themselves.

Yeah, even after his first year, I at the least felt a bit worried about that contract. If he'd improved, it might've been a good deal, but he hasn't really improved.

And it's not like he was some flashy rookie 20 year old that oozed talent that you just knew would improve, so why give him a deal where he needs to get better for it to be a good contract?
