Anthony Travalgia: It’s time to talk about David Krejci
David Krejci is quietly having a solid season and it's time to start talking about it. - Anthony Travalgia
I am one of his detractors but, I can't argue with this. He has stepped up for the Bruins. I am very happy to see it. |

Can I see a list of the wingers that we have given him over the year? I feel we've tried to find somebody to play with him and it hasn't worked out. I agree that we could find somebody better in most cases, but still. Its not like he's been playing with trash the whole time.
Also, Let's not go crazy... Wow krejci has been playing great with pasta and marchand. Yeah they're world class players, he'd better be putting up points with them.
Ultimately the beef is, as you stated, that his contract is way too high for way too long. Not Krejci's fault (cough chirelli) but that's what it comes down to. He's pretty good, but it a bad contract, especially toward the end, kind of the way it goes (cough rask, cough backes) |

Krejci is a star who's been forced to play with a revolving door of wingers. Hard to build chemistry with a new dude on your wing every month.
He deserves to play with players of his own calibre.
The problem is you have to pay a high price (Kids and draft picks) to acquire said players via trade or wait till free agency, and only then if they're made available by another team, or you don't get outbid.
Or.... you suck bell ends like Toronto, Pittsburgh, Chicago, and Edmonton for a decade and build through the lottery, thereby wasting the prime years of 37, 63, 46?
Is that an option for the Bruins?
I think they'll be fine waiting on the current crop. Lots of good things to look forward to.
Sweeney's done a good job so far and Cassidy should be in the Jack Adams conversation for his body of work without Bergy and Chara alone. |

I'll say it; if the line with Krejci keeps this up until Bergeron is ready, why not try Bergy on the second line? I don't think there's any doubt Bergeron is the superior player and putting Heinen or Donato with him and DeBrusk could be huge for those guys going forward. If it doesn't work you go back to the usual, but I think it's worth a consideration if this stays on pace. It's really the last "internal" balance of scoring they've yet to try and it makes a ton of sense to me. |

I’ve been thinking about this too. Maybe Backes has chemistry with Bergy? DeBrusk Bergeron Backes could be a tough matchup line. When Krejci was playing his best and we won the cup he was treated as the 1C and Bergy was in more of a shutdown role. I think that could work for this team if that line is just as good with Krejci
I’m in favor of keeping the Heinen JFK Donato line together once everyone is healthy. I think they’ve been a sneaky big part of the three game win streak and could finally give the team a 3rd line
They still need a top 6 RW
Marchy Krejci Pasta
DeBrusk Bergy Backes/Nordstrom
Heinen JFK Donato |

Backes for Lucic rumors today. I am sure it is just speculation but i would be very on board. Both are struggling but Lucic IMO is still a cut above Backes and can create space. Just hope he can find the magic with Krejci again. He has been talking about how he keeps looking back at his time in Boston.
I know you are gaining another year on that contract but I think Lucic still brings a lot more. Plus hes 4 years younger. I would do it in a heart beat if it was 1 for 1.

It's the lesser of 2 evils...
Lucic would be fine if he was making 1-2 mil per season and playing on the 4th line. |

Agreed. I just think Lucic can bring more and I think he would relish in the idea of coming back to play with Krejci. In the long run, it’s not the best move and if something else is available. I’d look into it.
Could also just be nostalgia. He was a great Bruin. |

Why would the Oilers do that. What do you think Peter Chiarelli is running their Team. Oh. Wait
