The Formenton injury is really discouraging. You cannot teach speed. Watching him split the D on the play where he was injured reminds me of what the Sens are missing. Further reminds me of the Sens sending Hossa down to junior, he was badly injured in a minor league play (knee) and needed surgery.

From what I saw of Wolanin in Ottawa and Belleville this year, he needs to work on his defensive play quite a bit. Lajoie has looked much better in terms of his ability to read the play and make better choices. Lajoie's drop off in offence was to be expected as the season moved along as other teams tighten up defensively.
Keeping Lajoie and Jaros in Ottawa was the right choices given the alternatives.

When is enough-is-enough with Boucher's man crush on Tom Pyatt.

He brings zero offense. He has the worst +/- on the team and tied for 2nd worst in the NHL. He gets regular time on the 2nd worst PK in the league. He doesn't hit or bring any physical game.

Yes, he tries really hard. But he is not an NHL calibre player and yet the coach refuses to sit him. Boucher even moved him up to the 1st line a couple weeks ago.

I don't care how good Pyatt played for Boucher 4 years ago in Switzerland. The decision to keep him in the lineup is becoming inexcusable.

To Ottawa

Matt Belesky
Brendan Smith

To New York

Ryan Callahan
Slater Koekkoek
2.5m of Bobby Ryan
TB conditional pick

To Tampa Bay

4.75m - Bobby Ryan
Ben Harpur (optional for TB)

Thoughts?

Rangers pay 1.175 to bring Ryan Callahan for next season. 2.5m for 2 years after that for Bobby Ryan.

Sens save 1.5m next season (4.15, 7.5m the next 2 years) $ they can use towards Duchene & Stone

Tampa needs to clear much more cap space than what that would give them, they would prob do that deal without getting anything in return

the deal makes sense

If not adding a Johnson + Palat with dzingel coming back would work

I thought inconclusive meant it went to the play on the ice? Do they have an angle we don't?
