If they were scouting Mike Smith, he certainly played his way out of the running. They have owned him over the years anyway. He would simply be a taller version of Elliot who is not as much of a battler in the crease and with an entirely different injury profile. |

I think that trading for Jimmy Howard is along the lines of what the Flyers should do. They won't have to give away a ton, and they only need a stop gap starting goalie until Carter Hart is ready. They aren't winning the Cup this year anyway. Please, Fletcher, don't overpay for Quick. |
