The speed that has been added is remarkable with the pickups.
Dotch has been a revelation from Tampa. A solid D man for 800K - steal.
Ritchie has been transformed by Gary Roberts and lost most of his bad habits along the way,
Is scoring and being a huge net front presence.
3 lines that are viable with a solid D and the best goalie on the planet.

If Jeff carter gets traded he wants to stay in SoCal. John Hoven says possibly ANA could be a destination. Of course it’ll take a lot to get him considering cross town rivals, but I wonder if the 2 clubs could come to an agreement of a fair package.

Why? He's going to be 34 in January. His contract has 3 more years after this with a cap hit of $5.27M per year. Last year was last year. He's been abysmal this season.

The wheels are still there as is the shot. He can play C or W and the Kings are some kind of terrible. So I don't see looking at this year for him as an indication of his value.
It pushes Kes down ... Give him Raks and Sherwood and watch the magic.

If the "wheels are still there as is the shot" he would have more than 6G 9A in 34 games. To saddle this team with that salary for another 3 yrs is just plain stupid. AND, if he has a NMC with the Ducks, he has to be protected for the Seattle expansion draft. No thank you. We can agree to disagree.

You miss the - Kings are terrible this year part ??? It's a testament to his skill that he has those #'s playing on that tire fire.
If he pushes up to a cup so be it. Pears is going to be bought out. Eaves LTIR .. enough kids on ELC's for the salary to work. With team friendly deals by Gibby and Hampus & Raks, if he's available for a reasonable price you go for it.
Plus like I said he moves Kes down and gives us even more of a scoring threat with a real 2nd line C.

If he gets traded the NMC is void, see Visnovskl, Lubomir.

Please. As a condition of agreeing to a trade, he can demand another NMC.

Maybe his last year. But not before I don't think. The $'s would handcuff this team big time.

Tempting. An extra 6 million in cap space next year. But only 2 extra the year after that. The question is what to do with it. If we sign a free agent like stone or duchenne it would be Intresting. But both are gonna want around 8 million. Hefty price. Especially if they sign elsewhere. Maybe resign silfverberg. Who knows. And Bob usually makes trades. We haven't signed a big free agent since scott niedimeyer. So we will see.
