Dont even know what to say about this team or season. In some ways its worse than the season which shall not be named for me. Mainly because expectations were higher.

I see a team with no confidence from individual players in themselves, or each other. A fragile group with no idea what to do.

So much in agreement. Our injuries haven't been that devastating. Expectations were higher. We have a ton of talent. Its infuriating to see us this bad. Change in coach only seemed to give us a temporary spark. This roster needs a major shake up. It could be one big move that does it but we simply don't work as is.

That 2012 Pens series seems like an eon ago. I honest to God can't believe this thing hasn't been totally blown up. Going on a full 7 years without a series win(and only looking worse) is unacceptable.

This is likely the worst season I’ve ever suffered through. Others were bad, but I can’t remember a season where the team has ever been more disappointing in regards to my expectations. I thought this was 92-96 point team heading into the season. While the goaltending and center depth were worrisome, I still thought that this team had a much better than 50/50 chance of being a playoff team. Instead they’ve just fell apart.

This team lacks confidence, guts and heart and seems to be a badly mismatched set of individuals more than a team. It’s just sad.

This sums it up nicely. Very disappointing. This season is lost, time to figure out who they want here in the future.

The core just has never been able to be part of a consistent effort. I’m sure our new GM is trying to get something done.....it’s not easy....it’s not like he’s had 5 years.....he’s only had 5 weeks. I’m of the mindset that no one should be untouchable. Some because of their stature and price tag probably are but this teams roster is in need of a major shakeup. Agreed 100 %.

They have to move a core player. It's basically showing complacency with the roster not to at this point.

I 100% believe they should be moving Simmonds as soon as possible. If he gets injured and they miss out on getting a 1st+ I will be livid.

Would you consider the Jones for Johansson a good deal for both teams?

Would anyone consider Provorov for Marner?

Oh I know it takes two to tango and I imagine fletcher works the phones everyday. We cant trade Jake for a bag of pucks just to do it though I think I'd rather have the pucks at this point. Itll happen at some point. Other teams need shake ups as well.

I would do it in a heart beat....no slight against Provy....Marner is a top 10 player in the league.

I consider Jones for johanson a great deal for Columbus and a not terrible deal for Nashville. I would not trade provorov for marner in 1000 years.

I think that's where most of us thought they would be. Maybe even a little better with some growth from some of the younger players. This is the same team as last year minus Filp and Manning and adding JVR.

I hope you all have a happy new year and hopefully better things ahead for this franchise.

Flyers may not be able to get a guaranteed first-rounder for Simmonds. I suspect it will be more along the lines of a conditional 1st-round (2019) and 2nd round (2020) pick with the condition being something along the lines that the default return is a 2nd (2019) and 3rd round (2020) pick but if the team to whom he's traded reaches the Stanley Cup Finals, the return elevates to 1st and 2nd rounders.

Nashville was able to trade Jones because of the defenseman they had. Flyers cannot afford to trade Provorov. In a realistic trade proposal, Provorov is untouchable.

For sure....you have other teams that are in the same boat....St. Louis, Dallas, Edmonton....these guys have similar core guys that are not playing well.

1) No. Would much rather have Jones.

2) I would not. Flyers could build a forward corps that could win. Down season from Provorov aside, they could not take yet another step backwards atop the blueline.

According to the official scorers, the Flyers were guilty of 46 turnovers (29 giveaways charged to Flyers, 17 takeaways credited to Carolina) to 18 by Carolina (13 Canes giveaways, 5 Flyers takeaways).

Blow it up. These guys are not a team that plays for each other or for the logo. The culture is sick and needs to be put back on track somehow.
If your confidence is so low that you fall apart after a goal or two then cya later.
At this point you’ve played hockey your whole life so stick to the fundamentals.

These guys force to many plays. Over pass in the ozone. Stand around and wait for someone else to make a play instead of moving their feet and creating opportunities to make a play. Peel off from finishing a check.
I doubt Hakstol and Gordon coach them to play this way.
If these guys have a leadership group they aren’t doing such a good job.
