Driving your knee into the opponent, which then essentially gets nailed to the boards, is pretty dangerous. Should be leading with your upper body, not your legs |

Tough loss for team Canada last night. Hockey Gods were not on their side last night at all. Hunter did a fine job, yet will get hammered for the choices he made, that's coaching. |

Good game. Sorry to see Canada lose. But, good for international hockey when a Nordic team knocks off Canada in a Canadian rink. In both losses (Russia, Finland), I thought Canada had a strong edge in territorial play. But, missed too many chances and clearly lacked a strong finish in the scoring zone.
In the post game, the TSN commentators looked and sounded like they were about to cry. |

Well... when that Frost kid hot-dogged, did the glove-to-ear move vs. Denmark... I saw this coming.
Embarrass a team 14-0? Shows some issues re: character, imo.
Cherry ain't wrong: the Hockey Gods are always watching. |

Nope, they were not. After blowing out the Danes at 14 - 0 and these kids are celebrating on goals 7 to 14?? They did not appease the gods with this type of sportsmanship. Call it what you want but Karma came and bit them right where it hurts. Coaches never want the team to let up but 14 goals? Why not just switch to a perimeter game at 8 nothing?
Last nite's game hurt. Bouchard gets the breakaway, his blood is pumping, he created the breakaway, he skated hard and fought off the check, so lets get Comtois off the bench. It makes sense, Comtois had 5 goals and an assist, he is a scorer, Bouchard a defenseman with only three assists, it makes sense. Can't fault Hunter for this choice although this is coaching and he will forever be questioned on it. That's coaching.
I understand the rule and the angle from the coach but Bourchard's blood is pumping, he is into it. Whatever, let it go.
Karma folks.
Dipietro was fantastic along with the Finnish goalie. It was an excellent and exciting game but a lucky goal from the Finns, broken stick on Dobson. Not much else you can do but the gods were not appeased either from the Danish game. |

He's an awful coach. He's also the longest tenured coach in Moose Jaw Warriors history. This is his fifth season with the team. |

Also, not the first time Aleksi Heponiemi has caused some serious pain for a Tim Hunter coached team.

Can't really comment on the choice to use Comtois for the penalty shot as I honestly don't know if they had a better option (they probably did) but I did read this morning that the team didn't practice during the tournament. No practices since Christmas Day. I can't fathom how that is okay; especially given how much they struggled to score on the power-play. |
