Tanner, the question was who is the MVP, not the MTF (Most Talented Forward). |

Edmonton is 10th place in the Western Conference and outside of the playoff picture. Maybe if they didn't have McDavid, they would be 14th place in the conference and also outside of the playoff picture.
There is no Value (The V in most valuable player) to making your team a 10th place loser instead of a 14th place loser. Actually you are making things worse by giving yourself worst draft picks.
The being said, McD is a beast and I respect his skill, but I swear the conversation was supposed to be about MVP?? Tanner? |

I don't know about that. American citizens just voted in a Congress that puts illegal aliens ahead of struggling Americans. And cares more about feelings than facts.

I still take Scheifele because he never gets the press outside of Winnipeg and given his contract value
the hart is not for 'best contract value and least media coverage'... |

I honestly don't care who wins the Hart, there are many players who are deserving of it. |

McDavid won the scoring title by 6 points last year, not 20
and who exactly did Taylor Hall have playing behind him last year when he won the Hart?
Tanner, you completely negate your own arguments in separate sentences. |

Sorry, what I should have said - but can't edit cause I sent it to Todd - was that he led the NHL by almost 20 5v5 points, which is just insane. |

When I read anything Tanner writes I'm thankful that as a Devils fan we have Todd Cordell, the best in the business.
McDavid as MVP last year would have been a joke. He led his team to just barely missing the playoffs by 17 points. Meanwhile Taylor Hall took a lousy team with a second rate goalie on his back and took them to the playoffs. Of course using Tanner's logic I wonder how Hall would have looked with Mackinnon, Stamkos, Tavares or Couture playing behind him? I also have to wonder why Tanner would go with Brodiak as his next best Oiler...RNH is on a slightly below PPG pace, not bad for a #2 center. In contrast, the Devils #1 center has 27 points in 35 games. I guess that's what alleged writers call poetic license.
McDavid as MVP this year? I'm not sure but I think the Oilers can miss the playoffs whether McDavid plays or not. Just for the record, I think McDavid is a great player and I'd love to see him on my team. I just think that a hockey writer would have a bit of a clue about...hockey. |

McDavid should have won last year, it really was lame and I don't know what to say to anyone who thinks otherwise. He led the league by 18 5v5 points. Hall was great, but hockey is a team game and penalizing the best player arbitrarily is wrong.
As for Brodziak, it's a joke meant to make fun of how bad the Oilers are, and it was pretty obvious. I mean there were even hahahas in there. |

Missed out on this one. The answer is still Connor McDavid. |

You obviously don't know what the "V" in MVP stands for. And your point? Hockey is absolutely a team game, and Hall took a lousy one to the playoffs pretty much by himself. In my defense the Professional Hockey Writer Association agreed with me. Hall only had 994 more points than McDavid, who the professionals ranked fifth. |

Sorry I missed the joke. I should have added "Jimmy Hayes" and through in a few ha ha's in my defense of Taylor Hall. |

McDavid was a floater during yesterdays game. He does a lot of 'fly-bys' when he's in his own end. I'd rather have Galchenyuk. |
