I am ashamed of all of those keyboard warriors!
Of course I realize I live in a world that is so bubble wrapped,it's embarrassing and it seems everyone is offended by the littlest bloody thing.
But no way he deserves the abuse he has been getting...

I think what you had here was a perfect storm. A player, given the captaincy who had acted in a very shameful manner. Flopping and diving all over the ice. Comtois was given great opportunity in terms of ice-time, but came up way short against the big boys. Team Canada's failure to rein in his antics from the start, lead in part to their early exit. Comtois set the tone for the culture on the team. The diving, running up the score. All things that Canadians usually are against. Ice-time was not awarded based on merit. Just went back to their preconceptions. In the end they scored two goals in 120 + minutes.
I think Comtois management would be better served telling their player to start playing the right way.

I'd wager money MC's teammates were just as mystified with his diving routine as the rest of Canada was.

I dont wish any sort of emotional pain on'em, but you need to make your own bed kid.

Poor coaching... can’t pin it on the kid. Coaches job is to structure the team, and use the right tools for the right job. I don’t think anyone could have guessed he’d be the first choice for a shoot out.

To his rep's, I sarcastically thank you for publicly making Canadian hockey players look "soft". Hockey is not a sport for sissies. If you can't take it I suggest you take up anothe hobby... like knitting!
