We need a #3C and #2RW if we're gonna do anything come playoff time.
Good 1st half though.

I think they should just run with Debrusk Krejci and Donato and let them gel. You have a sniper, a net presence and a play maker.

Not sure the revolving door approach is working.

Also, i can do without seeing another short handed goal for the rest of the season. That was a pathetic 5 on 3 last night.

Solid win though. Thank you Mike Smith. What has happened to him? He was baddd last night.

I think the Flames have 12+ shorties on the season.
Scary good club, other than goaltending.
You're right though. Smith stinks.

Sorry, I do not trust Sweeney to make any trades. He gets fleeced!

You mean to tell me you didn't think a third rounder for Zac Rinaldo was a good deal?

Lets all forget the fact that he traded Lucic for Jones, C Miller, and a 1st, and then trade Jones for Kuraly and a 1st - so essentially Lucic for 2 1's, Miller and Kuraly

Give the guy some credit

He has not done superb on the depth moves but i also don't think he wanted to overpay in bidding wars for the players he wanted but had to slightly over pay for players like Liles/Stemp at the deadline. I liked the Wingels move and he got a solid return for Mcquaid. Kampfer has been a pleasantly solid depth d man.

Sweeney has done a pretty solid job with the organization so far. It is hard to win trades when young players decide they want to leave ie Dougie. He got a haul for Lucic and not enough for Dougie.

He made a move last year in Rick Nash that i wouldn't have made but he was swinging for the fences. Besides the first they didnt give up much of the foundation at all in that move.

No you don't you have 2 NHL players and one inconsistent player, it hasn't worked for a reason. Donato-Heinen-Bjork-JFK doesnt seem to matter

woah, Hated this trade when he made it, and I said it at the time, the second Kamper's skate touched the NHL Ice it wasn't a good move IMO

However the Nordstrom move was a good one to make up for losing Nash, I mean Sweeney hasn't been Chiarelli, so that's a positive, I just think If they don't get an actual threat to play with Krejci and Jake they will get shut down in the playoffs, but with the Lightning being so Fing good it may not matter this year

Cheers

Did you just not like the trade or do you think Kampfer has been bad? I think he has been pretty serviceable 7th d man?

they 1000% percent miss Mcquaids toughness but he wasn't going to be playing much

when the trade was made it was done to let the “kids” play more, Which although I didn’t agree with, I did understand
Then Sweeney signed Moore to a 5 year deal which I didn’t understand. He’s never been a top 4 dman and seems like never will be. He doesn’t suck but he’s more of a 5th guy.
So there goes the idea of losing a guy like Quaider to play the kids more.
Obviously you would never expected all the injuries they have had this year.
Don’t get me wrong sounds like I hate Kampfer. I don’t.
MacQuaid really was what the younger Bruins needed.

Carlo and Gryz have really struggled this tear, and Chucky hasn’t been Healthy all year too. Been a really strange D year.

Couldn't disagree more. Grz has stepped up big time in the absence of, well... everyone. I don't think the defense has really been an issue. First and foremost they've been decimated by injuries, and then it's been Sweeney's inability to get players this team actually needs, and Bruce's refusal to break up his lines. Couple that with a regression from basically every single one of their young forwards, and it's absolutely amazing they're 3rd in the division.
