As a Leaf fan who lives in Edmonton.... I accept! Kapanen is a top 6 player, Personally I would have traded Nylander in a deal for Parayko as Kapanen looked amazing beside Matthews. Kapanen will not make the top 6 in Toronto with Nylander in the lineup.

Talbot gives us insurance (sort of.. hes been the poops this year) and Nurse gives us some size and a bit of attitude on the back end.

No way the Oilers are giving up on Nurse this early in his career. He is a leader and a point producer. Didn't someone give up on Brent Burns too early in his career?

Cam Talbot.... sure. How about a Spooner on top?

You’re a oiler blogger? This is so tilted in Toronto’s favor I figured you had to be writing for the leaves!

For me a trade proposal would be

Talbot ( 1.1 mil retained) + Nurse for Kapanen + Hutchinson or < insert d prospect not named Liljegren or Sandin > + conditional 2nd in 2020 if the Leafs make it the SCF otherwise a 3rd.

something like this ish

I'd require Sparks coming back and would prefer the pick to be a 2nd, but this is pretty much the deal I've been pushing for since November so I'd definitely do it.

Nurse
Talbot (half retained)

For

Kapanen
Sparks
2019 2nd (cond. based on how many games Talbot plays in the playoffs and how far the team goes)

Or if they'd be willing, I'd inquire about Grundstrom instead of the pick.

Well, duh!

I think Kapanen is fantastic. And I think the idea of a 2 on 1 with him and McDavid is crazy-awesome. It would be like time travel. It would be over before it started.

But I also think Nurse has huge potential, obviously.

I don't know what happened to Talbot, but I hope he finds his swagger again.

A 25 year old goalie with great numbers (.928, .922 and .936 sv% in three prior years in the AHL) leading up to this year whose numbers are still above .900 in this year's higher scoring NHL behind a team with some issues defending? Absolutely. Talk about the perfect potentially cheap candidate to fight for the starter's role next year; especially if Hitch sticks around and gets this team playing as his teams often do (tight defense, boost goalie numbers).

Nurse has had a mixed season...there have been defensive issues with his game

For the Leafs I'd want Larsson over anyone else, right hand shot and good stay at home defender.

But even if they put together a fair offer i can't imagine Pete trading him, would be too much egg on his face considering what he gave up to get Larsson

Give it a couple more weeks. Chiarelli might very well be gone by then.

Moving Larsson is not even a consideration for me unless it's for Marner, which obviously wouldn't happen. He's too valuable to this team and it's ability to compete in the future.

I talked to some Leafs fans a couple of days ago and the general feeling is while they like Nurse but it’s a RHD that they are really seeking at the moment
