Not surprised/shocked of what is happening right now. This is why we should not commit to anyone long term and focus on replenishing the system and developing elite talent. Hayes/Kreider are NOT elite talent and will never carry this team to the promise land. You need a legit #1 Center, a legit #1 scorer to be an offensive threat. You have to trade off guys like Zucc, Kreider, Hayes, etc.. in order to tighten the odds we land a great player. Lundqvist will soon realize his only cup chance is out of town and the waiver finally appeals to him. What goalie doesn't want a cup? Don't give me this garbage and talk about his good guy routine. I don't feel bad for him 1 bit. Loyalty has screwed this franchise throughout the years and hasn't learned when to move on with these players.

well I've been on board with trading Hayes because I think his trade value is through the roof, but he hasn't played the last few games and they have never looked worse, I actually think it kind of proves how important he is when you look at it that way.

I’d trade anyone other than the kids on this team. Anyone!
I’d like to see them have 4 first round picks (Their one pick, Tampa wins the cup and we get theirs, and then 2 more from trades of Hayes and Zucc).

And if anyone really, really wants Kreider...get another first rounder plus

And if they could trade Shatty, I’d do it in a heartbeat

Complete overhaul

dude, there isn't a chance they can get a first rounder for Zucc

in fact, if someone was offering a 2nd right now they should absolutely take it and run and not look back

Freefall: heard T B comment this is what F F is like or when it started ....

well the freefall started when Gorts letter hit the media last Feb.
were throwing in the towel ..REBUILDING &SELLING ..
then u start the season with vets mostly who arent part of the rebuild....
or wont be when it actually starts .just because u traded off last deadline
what do we show playing today from those trades ..VETS like namestikov
our D is so bad why kep playing guys who aint gonna be a factor

CANT BELEIVE THE TEAM PAUSED IN REBUILD TO THINK ABIOUT POSSIBLE PO'S

whats happening to Zucc will get worse with team ,call it the law of diminishing returns ... the longer u waited to move guys the more chance of then losing value with team in a no win we dont have the talent to win team...

Gorts knew this & still sits on hands as deals get done in front of him
players losing value & no moves & play is BAD .. overwelmed is what i see

Buchnevich has more asst's giving other team goals set ups than with his own team
WHEN DOESA HE SHOW HIS TARESENKO LIKE SKILL

CHTYL ANDERSON HOWDEN ; when do they show there elite level of talent
that they belong in NHL as anything more than a 3rd 4th line player ?

Pionk ,Shey ,ADA gotta keep sumbody to play BUT the rest ? why are they here ?

get the kids from Conn and let em play

shatty ,staal smith,Clausen,Mcquad gotta go
# asap FIRESALE
this is nothing then a team abusing its fan base
i can say i have called it accurately from the start ,no defelctions just facts

WE ARE GETTING SCREWED ROYALLY BY NYR MGMT WITH HORRIBLE TEAM
WITH NO FIX IN SITE ... TOLD U ALL THIS IS A WASTE LAND TYPE SEASON

MAY TAKE ANOTHER DEAD YEAR ...CAN U IMAGINE THAT

GOTTA GET ACTIVE ,STOP HOLDING ONTO FOR THE BETTER PICK HIGHER UP
JUST DUMP THIS TEAM & REALLY START THE REBUILD .....

Absolutely!
I only said that out of hope. They did get one in the Nash deal so there is hope. I know they took salary back in that deal which is why they probably got the first...

that's another issue they have

you can only hold salary on two players and they are already holding salary on Spooner

so they have to be really picky which deal they do it again on because they can only have 1 more

Only issue NYR mgmt has is

Do you trade Zbad or Hayes ...... NOT keeping both as #2 center

Once You find a Grade A #1.....asap

Another NEW issue ..TRADE FOR BURAKOVSKY from caps ....OVER PAY a lil

I wish we had Pitts G M ,he is a lightening rod amongst G M's

Gorts like SLats aint gotten it done and aint gettin it done .....

I like Pro active guys who find & make deals ...
If Pitt ever pulled a "Rebuild" move it would implode the fan base & no one would come to see them ..No one in Pitt pays to see losing mastered for an indefinite period of time ...

the deals for Haglin & Kessel got them 2 cups + other great out of box moves

we never get that ,Vanilla close to the vest plans..# AFRAID

The Rangers management could have given up whatever to get Hagelin and Kessel and it would not have mattered in regards to winning because we didn't have a Crosby and Malkin.

I would say a 1st, an A prospect, and then some filler B prospect to start...depending on the market and the desperation of a team maybe more. Any acquiring team would be getting him for 2 Postseason in theory so similar to McDonagh in that regard

Missed the pt.
Pitt GM identified his teams needs & went out of the box against what pundits called good deals to get players who had /have the talent & fit in...

we never try that here ,always gotta get top value or dont want to take a move and
finish it
I E trade for Nash but never get him the top center to play with

Attempt with Old man Richards never panned out , never tried again...
why get Nash when you dont surround him with grade A talent to play with

we never have had a top center since ... Messier , havent won a cup since too ....

I disagree. The Rangers went out and made a bunch of trades to try and get them over the top. It's part of the reason they didn't have a 1st round pick from like 2013-2016 or whatever the years were. Sometimes trades don't work out, its part of the risk.

Also its extremely hard to find top line centers.

ya true you are chained to him

I just think about his next deal and what kinda money he is going to be making while starting the deal at 29...

Pronman on Hughes and Kakko:
Jack Hughes, C, USA, 2019: Jack Hughes missed half of the tournament due to an injury, but when he was healthy he played well and USA’s coach trusted him with plenty of ice time. His skating is off the charts and anytime he’s around the play he adds an extra gear to the pace. He showed flashes of his playmaking ability but it wasn’t consistent. He didn’t hurt his draft stock but didn’t do a ton to move the needle.

Kaapo Kakko, LW, Finland, 2019: Kakko scored the Golden Goal but also was an important player for Finland throughout the tournament. He showed a lot of skill and offensive creativity and made some unique plays. He combined that by showing he could overpower guys despite being a double underage, just as he’s done versus men. His speed’s never been great for me but he looked pro-average here. His strong tournament and great Liiga season combined with his skills have made me think the top of the draft is a 1A/1B situation.
