Rangers have been outscored 18-3 their 3 games and the hard part of their schedule is just beginning and Purge 2 is coming to a theater near you

I guarantee you they will end up with one of worst 3 records in NHL

JIMBO GUARANTEE

Tell me who wants Smith, Staal and Shattenkirk. I'm all ears. Even if moving Zib, they still dont have enough.

Well you're just talking about Skjei and Pionk. Because DeAngelo has 123 career AHL games to 96 NHL games.

Edit: Skjei has been the same player in the AHL vs. The NHL.

- tomburton99

I think both have gone backwards.Maybe it’s who Pionk goes up against but looked better earlier in the year. I think even Smith looks to have gone backwards, and yes I know he’s not young. Maybe all the wings fans were right on him

Also think its a problem of the team playing awful. Can't really judge players when the whole teams blows. It affects everyone. Skjei is probably the one that disturbs me the most.

Hayes and Kreider will be the core of the team. If not, I hope they both wind up in Seattle somehow. Me and you will have a blog for ourselves.

You need more than a #1C to win. Oilers have that and they suck. You need to be strong up the middle, like in all sports. There is no good reason to trade away your strength for a hope and prayer. Keep Kreider, Hayes, Zib and Pionk and get what you can (if you can) for the rest. Plenty of money freed up over the next TWO years to sign a quality FA or two and hopefully some of these draft choices that we have collected over the last 3 years (plus next year) pan out.

Is Hayes in that Mcdonagh mode now where he's day-to-day and eventually disappears?

Not sure how many years I want of just talking about prospects :-)

I'm just curious if the Avs would fancy themselves a contender if they added an entire 2nd line.

They have enough cap space Gorton could literally send them Hayes or Zib, Kreider, and Zucc or Namestnikov (keeping salary on Hayes/Kreider and taking a small bit back in the deal)

Would they offer up Ottawa's 1st rd pick? Would they if there was a clause that if it is the lottery pick 1st overall the Rangers and Avs swap 2nd rd picks or throw in something extra?

Pipedream probably but no other contender would have the cap space to add an entire quality 2nd line overnight.
