Is Hayes in that Mcdonagh mode now where he's day-to-day and eventually disappears? - mrn22
Sounds like mdw is about to lose his boner boy

I'm just curious if the Avs would fancy themselves a contender if they added an entire 2nd line.
They have enough cap space Gorton could literally send them Hayes or Zib, Kreider, and Zucc or Namestnikov (keeping salary on Hayes/Kreider and taking a small bit back in the deal)
Would they offer up Ottawa's 1st rd pick? Would they if there was a clause that if it is the lottery pick 1st overall the Rangers and Avs swap 2nd rd picks or throw in something extra?
Pipedream probably but no other contender would have the cap space to add an entire quality 2nd line overnight. - Maskdman3
I was talking to someone on twitter about what it would take for Colorado to get Ottawa's first rounder
I suggested
Kevin Hayes
Adam McQuaid
the pick from Tampa that's a first rounder or 2nd depending if they win the Cup
Rangers 2019 2nd rounder
he seemed to think that wouldn't be enough, but that's a lot |

Any trade the Avs make for a chance at a franchise player they would have to be pretty sure that they'd have a great shot at the cup. I don't know if that would do it. Just my 2cents |

Ya there is no way they trade that pick unless we are sending Kravtsov and that Tampa pick imo
and that doesnt get it done I bet |

I disagree. The Rangers went out and made a bunch of trades to try and get them over the top. It's part of the reason they didn't have a 1st round pick from like 2013-2016 or whatever the years were. Sometimes trades don't work out, its part of the risk.
Also its extremely hard to find top line centers. - TPC
We never pull off trades like Pitt has ,Kessler was miserable, horrible contract
usual looking out of shape (But those hands & shot) playing terribley with Toronto mess .VOILA reborn , renaissance & 2cups later , gave up nothing for him
BUt took the leap , our G M walks witha cane for stability ,never gonna make the big moves ..Kinda liked Espo back in Day AS g m ,went crazy over the top trading but never sat on his hands , would love an aggressive guy with player knowledge to go after it
CANT BELIEVE WE HAVE A GUY NOT PLANNING ON AIMING AT CUP NEXT YEAR
NOT THIS WAY THEY WONT ,SLOW & STEADY DONT WIN , THEY JUST FINISH UP
AND TAKE THE SCRAPS LEFT AFTER THE MAIN MOVES ARE DONE...WE WILL SEE |

Was listening to 2 Man Advantage on Sirius Radio the other day and Johnathan Davis was speaking to Andrew Peters. He prefaced his comments as only speculation on his part but said he would not be surprised if teams are not reaching out to NY to find out the deal on Lundqvist.
He covers the Sabres so he said, while he hasn't spoken to Botterill about this specifically, he think that the Sabre are a prime team looking for an big upgrade in goal and that Lundqvist should be explored as much as possible.
Davis was quick to point out that he thinks Hank just like NYC and that leaving is just not in the cards for him.
Take it for what its worth. |

I think the worse they play the more the Hank rumors will come out no matter what Hank says. I couldn't imagine wanting to play on this team though.

Really? Kessel was terrible in Toronto? Have you ever looked at his stats. Toronto was terrible. Kessel was the one decent thing they had going. Nice try. Try again. |

Yeah, Kessel was a really good player on a team that was transitioning and moving to a full rebuild. He was a 0.9 PPG player in Toronto where they only made the playoffs once in 6 years. He has been slightly better on the Penguins but in Pitt he is not the man. |

just playing along, if Lundqvist would be willing to go, Okposo and Carter Hutton's salaries would equal Lundqvist's and then they'd send us Alexander Nylander
