I could see Keith being useful to many teams, it just depends on the realistic asking price ?

Why the (frank) would the Penguins move Kessel who’s locked in at a great cap hit for multiple years for a rental in Stone who’s going to walk after this year? I like stone and all but that’s just god damn retarded asset management.

@Boyd...I guess I could see a scenario if someone's overpaying for Kessel, but that's the only way.

I don’t even know what kind of overpayment it would be. I don’t think the Pens come out on top on most realistic trade scenarios with Kessel.

The cap hit at that age is a factor for most teams that are contenders too. There's going to be retention of some kind. I doubt Chicago takes back any junk contract in a deal.. I didn't realize how old Keith is now, almost as old as me. Is he still a top 4 on a good team?

Yes. He's top 4 for probably the next ~3 years. His cap hit is actually pretty reasonable. 5.5 million for a top 4 is very nice. His age is the problem. I bet Chicago will retain ~1-1.5 million and he'll get traded to a contender for a 1st + top prospect ...

Nurse and a 1st would be fair and both teams get what they need

Yeah he is depending on the team, he’d be a better fit for a cash strapped, under cap team like the Avalanche:

Keith Cap hit $5,538,462

Keith salary:

2019/20 $3,500,000

2020/21 $2,650,000

2021/22 $2,100,000

2022/23 $1,500,000

DK has had only 1 bad season which was last year. Ugly -29. Only a -2 this year on a bad team. 18 pts is ok in 44 games. I’d offer Sekera once he’s healthy, Phil Kemp and 2 nd round pick 2018.
