There is no way this team is going to go on a run at this point. Why not sit the overpriced veterans and let the kids play to gain experience and see what we have.

Exactly you have to be aware of that looming so it might be more of a trade for picks and prospects and bring up guys you don't mind using for the rest of the year

Valid points. I have to just come to the realization that what we have seen this year is what we have to live with at this point.

My son was confused by tonight's game. "dad, the Blues didn't let ANY goals get scored?"

Congrats Binny!

Brutally bad. I couldn't bring myself to go even though I love (the struggling) Tarasenko.

Too late for Thomas and Kyrou, Blais and Reinke.

Vegas is going to score off of the expansion draft.

But also, Hitch said it best about this team and how the league is at the moment.

Strange thing is they are by now means that far out of it which is just perplexing. Only about to be halfway through the year.

In a year we all thought JayBo's career was over he's ressurected his play after getting healthy. Tarasenko has been showing more flashes of himself lately(not just bc he scored but driving to the net and using his strength).

Allen started off the year so atrociously, I thought his weak mind was finished. Then he plays great after the team developed terrible habits because of him.

Now it's sorting itself out. I even saw a game where the Blues had puck luck. Officiating was for a long stretch mind-blowingly terrible, not even bias bad, but how did that happen bad.

Yet, they are five games out of it only somehow. Win the two games in hand and they are 2.5 games out with a number of the wild card teams an injury or two away from crashing.

I haven't seen the Blues look good enough to overcome it but statisically speaking they are least likely to win four in a row. If the timing is right it could alter a lot.

Btw that was the Binnington I saw in Chicago a few seasons back that made me think he was better than Allen when we still had high hopes for Allen. Some players are late bloomers. But here is another kid where comfort and confidence play an extreme aspect to their game. I'm not talking about the result of the shutout but rather some big key saves early. I hope he finds a groove bc that at the least will push Allen. Also if Allen swoons yet again.....

If not then the Blues can do some asset management and get a high draft pick that could greatly alter the team.

Steen to IR. Who to bring up? If only we had a young prospect tearing up the AHL.

Lol sanford needs to play as well.

If only we had an overpriced former elite player who teams would give us lots of pieces for that would make the team better if he were traded.

I can see where you can trade such a player and get a player like Pesce, which frees one to kick Parayko up and trade another really good player and get a ton of assets for and then have a better overall team.

For once I like the goaltending, even if captain weak goal gives up one.

Also if you made these moves you could have space to play Kyrou appropriate minutes. I swear our pp with the over-priced one has sucked a lot since he's been out there. The more he touches the puck the worse the movement. Hell anyone with a half way decent shot with that much pp icetime would score a few goals too.

Yet everyone dogged Perron early and he seems to be one of the few to take responsibility and be a better player. He learned something last year. And his comments just feel like he thinks other players are Not putting in an honest effort.

I am slowly coming around to your guys thinking on this season.

I think it is time for guys to show whether or not they want to be a blue.

If they don't than ship them out.

Allen is gone either at the trade deadline or in the offseason this team just lacks trust in him

You cant score 1 goal a game and expect to win

Everyone on this board made great points about tho perplexing team. Sometimes, it just doesn’t pan out for some reason even though I thought they would actually be a contender this year. You can blame coaches and fire them all you want, but eventually the locker room has to decide to do the work. I’d say don’t give up until after the all star break, but coming out of it they need to go on a year of like 8 or 9 wins out of 10, or a 5 to 6 game streak. The VGK started off abismal this season and so many people of course said... see, it was a fluke. They needed to rattle off a streak and they did and haven’t looked back. The Blues need to do the same or many of you are right, it’s time to find out who wants to stay a Blue.

Problem is they cannot even win two in a row. They are getting close though. Unless Tarasenko starts scoring, forget it. That line is too good to not be producing. Schwartz needs to start scoring as well.

Would you all trade Allen plus to Cbus for Bob?

I understand he is a rental but it gets us out of the atroscious contract allen has

If you can get out of Allen contract then hell and yeah. I was thinking the same thing. Of course the Blues would need to move another contract to make the move happen. This could facilitate a couple of trades. I guess the Blues have interest in Hamiliton? I was hoping Pesce, Nekos plus for Tarasenko. But getting Hamilton means you can move Petro. I'd want more than Hamilton for Tarasenko but can that happen?

But to get Bob more than Allen has to go to fit under the cap. Maybe Jarmo values Steen? I doubt it and he's hurt but man would that be a coup. Of course the Blues would have to move someone besides Allen just for Jarmo to get decent value.

I could see a few trades to start happening depending how the next week or so goes

they are on the verge of being completely out by numbers

We all see the product on the ice and know they are done but the numbers say they can still make a run

Looks like Maroon is as good as gone once his NTC gets modified to an 8 team NTC after January 31. I honestly feel bad for the guy. He left a lot of money and term on the table to come play for the Blues and be with his family. Hopefully he can score some goals wherever he ends up and get himself another chance at a contract.

I would like to know what the sitch is with Bobrovsky and barring anything unseemly about what's going on there - I would go hard after him.

Big time.

Blues would solve a whole lotta problems with some veteran, dependable goaltending.
