I think much more is needed for a team to get both. Everyone over pays at deadline.

That’s a Great deal IF he extends. It might be worth it for CBJ to make push and advance beyond round 1 for once. If they feel they can’t extend Panarin or Bob then either go for it OR sell at the deadline.
Personally I’d go for it and see what happens.

Why would Ottawa move him somewhere they know he can’t extend........it kills his value.
- sensarmy_11

Might still be a better deal. AND I’d like to see the Jets win the Cup or at least make the SCF. It’s a hockey town. Dirty one but still.

That’s if my teams do not play them.

Lol. I don’t think he lowers it to a degree where a team gets both Stone and Duchene.

That’s just me though. I don’t watch too many Sens games, I didn’t think Ceci was that bad. Wasn’t he a top prospect a few years ago? He just fell off the grid?

- KINGS67

Apparently the Sens turned down a Ceci for Taylor Hall way back when, so then the Larsson deal went down. Big time miss from the Sens. Ceci's metrics are basically the worst in the league, but Ottawa likes Ottawa people (I think they believe it improves their prospects to get team friendly deals. Massively delusional.)

Makes sense for Sens to deal Stone, Duchene and Dzingle. Sens are in full rebuild. I believe new ownership is coming and this is when you do all the dirty work of bottoming out.

I believe Stone lands in Boston.

Duchene will be a great addition for the Islanders.

Dzingle goes to Buffalo.

It's not a mystery.

He's available because all RHD on the Canes are available right now. They need to move a guy or two out to make room for Adam Fox, and they're so desperate for forward help that they'll trade whatever defenseman gets them the best forward in return.

- BINGO!

...except a player of his caliber shouldn't be shuffled around this much - I get the Canes have RD depth, but Faulk has been the name on the mill most this year. DH is a recent addition to the rumor train, and the Canes JUST traded a pair of great assets for him. It all smells suspect to me.

Ottawa wont trade any of them within the conference

Stone to Dallas, Duchene to Anaheim and Dzingle to Minnesota

I’m sticking with Nylander + Liljegren + brown/johsson + conditional 1st will not land both.

Will it get 1 of those players maybe. Unless a team comes up with a better offer, which I do believe will be the case.

In the end I doubt TOR makes a play for either. They need a Dman

I think that would be true in a different set of circumstances. But, Ottawa will deal with the team that offers best pick opportunity and prospects regardless of conference. They don't want bodies coming back. This is about bottoming out and being active in the 2019 draft.

Seriously?! Wow. Big mistake. But in the end that’s all a prospect is, a prospect that might be good some day

If you think a better offer than Nylander, Liljergen and a 1st for a rental is coming, you'll be waiting all the way to July when they leave for a smile and a handshake

Agreed Leafs need D, though Dubas seems in a different paradigm on that. Unless Nylander de-Zaitsevs himself and starts PPGing ASAP, nobody will want him before the deadline, especially Ottawa.

Can't see this happening - Anaheim is like Ottawa, with a restrictive internal cap. They'd be scared to pay anybody over 7AV, which Duchene will definitely want.

Why? Kings aren't really going anywhere right now anyway and Duchene will be gone next season

It would be a good thing for Kings' fans, Ducks would waste assets on a rental

Then in that case I’m always for that franchise to waste picks and prospects for players that will leave them and not getting a Stanley Cup out of it

And if they did sign him, they would overpay and handcuff themselves financially and again, a win for LA
