Chabot is 21 and already one year f the beat dmen in the entire league......and you’re calling that minimum return?

Young dmen and young centres are the most valuable commodities in terms of trade value.

I wouldn’t move chabot for nylander and your 1st (which is ikely to be very high 20s) and I certainly wouldn’t trade stone for the other scraps you mentioned.

- sensarmy_11

I think you misread what im saying...i was defending the Sens and what you were saying...everything I read was completely insignificant because the Sens weren't getting nearly as much as they should in return almost all the trade proposals mentioned on here.

I hadn't made a trade proposal yet, so the "scraps i mentioned" were probably something someone else offered and you confused that person with me lol.

If anyone wanted Chabot, that team is going to have to give up more than anything they'd ever want to give up. The only player that could be considered for Chabot from the Islanders would be Barzal, but for obvious reasons, this would never happen.

As far as Stone or Duchene, obviously the Sens returns are going to be dependent on whether or not an extension was going to be signed. As a straight up rental...I'd say the isles would probably have to give up their 2019 1st rounder and Sebastian Aho.

3 team deal. Penguins, Sens, Minn. Pens get Stone and Coyle, Joel Erickson Ek. Minn receives Kessel Brassard and Tristen Jarry. Ottawa receives, Penguins 1st if Stone signs or 3rd if stone doesn’t sign, 3rd from Minn, Calen Addison and Greg Pateryn.

lol, I just suggested almost the same, except added Dzingel and PIT 1st (vs 2nd) + sheahan.
- mventres

So you want to trade both bottom 6 centres for a couple of wingers that they don’t need? You like 42 year old Matt Cullen as 3C and a very useless Derek Grant as the 4C? Seems like a great way to lose in the first round of the playoffs

Remember - he's a rental - that's it!

To Ottawa from Toronto:
Connor Brown - serviceable 2nd or 3rd liner on an affordable deal (which we know Ottawa loves)
Jeremy Bracco - mid to high level prospect
2nd round pick - turns into a 1st if Toronto makes it to the Stanley Cup final

To Toronto:
Mark Stone

Oilers look to extend Stone. They would have the money after moving Lucic. McDavid finally has a real winger.

Here is Eugene Melynk's proposed deals:

Detroit gets Mark Stone.
Ottawa gets Henrik Zetterberg and Johan Franzen

Arizone gets Matt Duchene
Ottawa gets Marian Hossa

Melnyk gets $15M of salary cap use for guys on LTIR that he doesn't have to pay.

Add the almost $10M already going to LTIR players Gaborik and MacArthur and El Cheapo has $25 millioin of his salary cap requirements covered by guys he doesn't have to pay.

He can reach the Cap Floor with a roster loaded up with guys making the league minimum.

- punchanello77

This actually sounds like something he’d do...

So basically Voracek for Stone got it!

This is just dumb.

- KINGS67

As dumb as us fools discussing trades on a website.

My point was Philly gets rid of players in need of a change and Ottawa seeks solutions with those two assets. They would be able to pull out many assets with those two players

But again I agree this is stupid because we are donkies behind a computer not nhl gms

I'm a Leafs fan, but we can't afford Stone, so here's my best offer for another team.

Philly acquires Mark Stone, Cody Ceci, Drake Batherson and a 3rd round pick in 2020.

Ottawa acquires Shayne Gostisbehere, Morgan Frost, conditional 2nd round pick in 2019 (becomes a 2019 1st round pick if Stone re-signs in Philly).

Philly gets to take a chance on Stone, receive a controlled asset in Ceci, nabs another controllable asset in Batherson to offset moving Frost, and a 2020 3rd rounder for balance.

Ottawa takes Ghost to create space for Ceci in Philly, gets at least a 2nd round pick for Stone (if he remains a rental, upgrades to a 1st if he stays in Philly) and secures their #1C of the future in Frost if Duchene decides to walk away and test free agency.

As a Leafs fan I would agree that some of the trade proposals coming out of my fellow Leaf Nationers are quite laughable.

Chabot is good, and has the potential to be great, but to the Sens fan who said he's already a better d-man than Morgan Reilly - GFY. That's trash, brah.

I would (frank) with that if it wasn't for the conditional 1st this year, it looks like it's gonna be a high one. Make it a firm 2nd and drop Ceci out. Don't love the fact that Frost is in there, but would be worth it if Stone re-signs. Call up Meyers to take Ghosts spot and see how it goes, can't get worse this year anyways.

Colorado I believe could potentially resign both players and for Ottawa gets the picks they need for rebuilding. Then Ottawa can keep Duchene as they will need the high salary to get to the cap floor.

It's not a mystery.

He's available because all RHD on the Canes are available right now. They need to move a guy or two out to make room for Adam Fox, and they're so desperate for forward help that they'll trade whatever defenseman gets them the best forward in return.

- BINGO!

Just want to ask how you guys are handling the Hanifin and Lindholm trade?
