Proposed this on one of the Preds fan Facebook pages about a week ago. Most fans said no, but some said Ottawa would say no. So must be close. But speaking as a Preds fan that wants the cup now, I’d take it.
Nashville receives:
Matt Duchene
Mark Stone
Ottawa receives:
Kevin Fiala
Eeli Tolvanen
rights to Dante Fabbro
1st - Southstar
Not bad at all, although don't know much about Fabbro right now, your thoughts? |

Colorado: Cale Makar, Tyson Jost and a 1st round pick. Av's 2019 1st rounder. If Stone signs an extension with Avs, Sens get their traded 2019 1st rounder from Duchene deal. - fatty_mcmanboobs

Justin Schultz is back skating and I'm hearing that he should be back before the trade deadline for the Pens. When that happens the Pens will go back to being in cap hell, but it will also mean that they will have 9 healthy defensemen. That means that they can put one of their defensemen on the block. Letang and Dumoulin are totally off the table, however I believe Maatta is going to be the guy who gets traded. Since Stone makes $7M the Pens still won't have the cap space by just trading Maatta. Here's the best I can come up with:
Pens trade Brassard for a 2nd round pick to a team that needs a center. Then here's the offer for Stone:
Ottawa gets - Olli Maatta, Dominic Simon, and a 2nd
Pittsburgh gets - Mark Stone
Both Maatta and Simon are young and have good salary control. If Stone wasn't a rental player I would give a 1st instead. |

ofc the Sens will have to find teams that can resign them right away. I think the players' will want security as well - just like Turris did. It makes sense for both with the seasons their having; never know what's going to happened down the stretch and playoffs when scoring gets a lot harder |

He’s a surefire top 4, and that’s underselling him. Definitely top pairing potential. But if Nashville really wants to tr-sign Josi long-term, I think Fabbro will look to free agency. I really dont think he’s going to want bottom paring minutes.
Trading him is the only sure fire way of definitely getting something for him. |

lol, I just suggested almost the same, except added Dzingel and PIT 1st (vs 2nd) + sheahan. |
