lol, I just suggested almost the same, except added Dzingel and PIT 1st (vs 2nd) + sheahan.
I would take that too, he's probably better than Brassard. |

Remember - he's a rental - that's it!
To Ottawa from Toronto:
Connor Brown - serviceable 2nd or 3rd liner on an affordable deal (which we know Ottawa loves)
Jeremy Bracco - mid to high level prospect
2nd round pick - turns into a 1st if Toronto makes it to the Stanley Cup final
To Toronto:
Mark Stone - wbodnaruk
If Martin Hanzal (+ Ryan White and a 4th) can get you a 1st and a 2nd as a rental, Stone should be able to get AT LEAST that plus more. |

Yeah, if you’re not in Philly you’re missing every disgruntled fan blame Voracek for all the Flyers problems. All of a sudden he is not worth a bag of pucks. I thought being one of the top 20 scorers over the last 5 seasons was good, go figure. - mkabbeko
Stone = bag of pucks? |

I don’t understand why Philly would trade for Stone when they’re likely not making the playoffs this year.
Flyers fans keep thinking scoring will save you. Get a goalie already for cripes sake. |

No one thinks that he will save this season, we'd need to win north of 70% of the remaining games to even have a chance, and that's not gonna happen. Getting Stone would be more of a long term move, guys like that aren't available very often, and you hop on it when you can. |

Edmonton gets: Duchene, Stone, Ceci
Ottawa gets: Nugent-Hopkins, Puljujarvi, Lucic, 2019 1st round pick
Edmonton is out of salary cap hell by unloading the Lucic contract. They get a RW for McDavid and an upgrade at Center in Duchene. Ceci is an upgrade as a 3rd pairing dman.
Ottawa replaced Duchene with RNH as 1st line centre with a contract they can afford. Lucic helps them get to the cap floor during their rebuild. Pulju and the pick help the rebuild.

Oilers look to extend Stone. They would have the money after moving Lucic. McDavid finally has a real winger. |

Bobby Ryan is actually a very capable 2nd line winger in the NHL; good on the PP. His contract is an anchor on his back, which lifted, would easily make him a 20g, 50p minimum. He was also a beast in the playoffs.

You are 100% correct in that we are not making the playoffs this year. I just want to change the mix of players in some way, and get rid of one of our overvalued players. Voracek fits that description. Call it addition by subtraction. We have a goalie, his name is Carter Hart. He is a piece we can build around. |
