Remember - he's a rental - that's it!
To Ottawa from Toronto:
Connor Brown - serviceable 2nd or 3rd liner on an affordable deal (which we know Ottawa loves)
Jeremy Bracco - mid to high level prospect
2nd round pick - turns into a 1st if Toronto makes it to the Stanley Cup final
To Toronto:
Mark Stone - wbodnaruk

Justin Schultz is back skating and I'm hearing that he should be back before the trade deadline for the Pens. When that happens the Pens will go back to being in cap hell, but it will also mean that they will have 9 healthy defensemen. That means that they can put one of their defensemen on the block. Letang and Dumoulin are totally off the table, however I believe Maatta is going to be the guy who gets traded. Since Stone makes $7M the Pens still won't have the cap space by just trading Maatta. Here's the best I can come up with:
Pens trade Brassard for a 2nd round pick to a team that needs a center. Then here's the offer for Stone:
Ottawa gets - Olli Maatta, Dominic Simon, and a 2nd
Pittsburgh gets - Mark Stone
Both Maatta and Simon are young and have good salary control. If Stone wasn't a rental player I would give a 1st instead. - maddog216
A rebuilding team should in no way trade Stone for anything less than a 1st. Especially when they don't currently have one! |

Bobby Ryan is actually a very capable 2nd line winger in the NHL; good on the PP. His contract is an anchor on his back, which lifted, would easily make him a 20g, 50p minimum. He was also a beast in the playoffs.
To Philly
Bobby Ryan (2m retained by OTT)
Mark Stone (8 x 8m)
Craig Anderson
To Ottawa
Cody Glass
Morgan Frost
Wayne Simmonds
Cody Eakin
Andrew McDonald
Michal Neuvirth
To Vegas
Jakub Voracek
Matt Duchene (8 x 7.75m - NMC) - AlfieisKing
I would take that deal, even though Ryan has 3 years left on a (not quite as bad as Voracek) $50 mil deal. Anything to get rid of Voracek at this point. I don't like Ryan a little bit, but why not? |

Colorado: Cale Makar, Tyson Jost and a 1st round pick. Av's 2019 1st rounder. If Stone signs an extension with Avs, Sens get their traded 2019 1st rounder from Duchene deal. - fatty_mcmanboobs
Now this is a deal. |

I'd take Bobby Ryan on my team if he's coming OUT of Ottawa and is around 5m per season. Put him with skilled forwards and he will get them the puck, he's a very underrated player. Don't get me wrong, I hate the guy as a player because of his contract, but he's still a very capable point producer and isn't a defensive liability |

Just chuck some stuff at him while he's in the press box. I assume you can hit him from the stands in Nassau. |

Faulk is basically the same guy he's always been. He just really needs a solid D partner to feed off of and de Haan has been great for him. Faulk's a good puck mover, has a hell of a shot if it ever hits the net.
I think they'd prefer to keep Hamilton and Pesce and trade Faulk instead, but truth is they have to trade SOMEBODY because Adam Fox won't sign if there's a huge logjam on the right side.
I think at this point they'll move whatever RHD gets them the best forward in return. |

The Dilemma in Ottawa
Sens are 31st in the NHL. They are on a current 8 game losing streak; something they haven't done in 20 years. It's great if they had their 1st pick, but they don't. Loosing Duchene & Stone makes them a lock to finish 29th-31st. Add Dzingel and maybe 1 more, this team is the runaway for the 31st position.
I don't know if you call it pride or just having some players that can still play at a higher level, but I suspect the Sens are going to require veteran players - like they got with Boedker and Tienery - in any trades. They can then turn around and trade these players after this year (maybe in the summer or at next year's trade deadline) |

Edmonton Oilers get: Mark Stone
Ottawa Senators get: 2019 1st Rd Pick, Darnell Nurse, Jesse Puljujarvi, Andrej Sekera (For Money Reasons)
I don't think that's enough to get Mark Stone to be honest but that's the best the Oilers could offer up without creating even more holes in their roster haha - BleedOil06
For a rental? Obviously you've attended & are a believer of the GM school of Chiarelli. That is terrible asset management.

Really? Why? He's a rental....you understand that, right? What are you expecting - Matthews or Marner? And with the cluster-poop Ottawa is do you not thing every GM in the league is going to try to fleece them at the deadline? Your team is going to have to expect pennies on the dollar for every asset they want to move. - wbodnaruk
Someone will at least pay a first if he's moving. What will he cost $-wise at the TDL? <3.5m? Flipping bargain for a rental. If you want him, it's gotta start with a 1st. Someone will bite. |
