Both times though they overachieved and most went back to saying "hope they don't think they're good now and stop planning for the future" - dt99999
2010 was the greatest. beat 2 generational teams in rounds 1-2 and then get wiped out by Michael Leighton. or was it Brian Boucher?
it might have been John vanBiesbrouck. |

totally disagree. by the time their contracts are less of an issue, they'll likely be washed up. their value as players won't get higher than it is rigt now, especially with Price returning to top-10ish form. additionally, since the Habs have turned into the Carolina Hurricanes (minus the 21st century success) they can afford to hold some of the cap hit. - DoubleDown
Fair enough but fact remains that both those 2 have a lot of term and money left owed to them and that's not easy to move, especially for a G, regardless of how well hes playing |

You dont think Petry would bring back value? And Tatar? - obie
MB praised him so he's NOT going to trade him. MB makes sure he devalues his trade chips and talks poop about them all season to bring the return down at the deadline! |

the way things have been trending for him since getting here Shea Weber will be dead in 18 months |
|
|
|
If the Habs are in the hunt trading either player makes little sense unless the return helps now or is such an overpayment that you can't say no. More likely if the plan is to move them the draft is the time |

id hang on to any wingers with some talent. can't have all these young centers coming up and dishing the puck to Arturri Lekhonen and Kenny Agostino. |

He'll die of old age before then. Finally ending his regression that started the minute he got traded to the Habs.

And Price is basically unmovable, so back to the original point... get what you can for Petry, Tatar and Shaw over the next few months and see where you're at! |

We have a lot of wingers but we need quality over quantity. The lack of finish (insert Finnish joke here....) is laughable. We need a couple of pure goal scorers.

Good blog and nice to see you call out Obie.
We can all agree that IF Petery26 can fetch something tremendous, then the Habs should pull the trigger.
Im expecting moves like the Weise\Fleishmann trade - WaterBoy
Only UFA they have is Benn... Hudon might get flipped for very little too |
