Remember the old game where an aggressive goalie would come flying out of the net and try to play a puck like the one on Minny's 3rd goal with the breakaway? A goalie like Tim Thomas would have for sure played or tried to play a puck like that.

Hellebuyck looked a bit like Pavs to me - leaning forward, making himself small. Good shot though.....

Leaning forward creates an angle from the shooter in front of the goalie, crossbar and the ice. There is a triangle that a big goalie like Helle will rely on. Takes away the top, or supposed to, his big body legs covering the bottom so all areas should hopefully be covered.

Not the best attempted stop on Zuckers second goal but it’s certainly not the reason the Jets lost.

Anyways, there are goalies that play the puck with confidence and frequently and there are goalies that will wait for the play to come to them. Helle is a goalie that stays at home and let’s the play come to him.

Not criticizing Helle, but he is not a puck playing goalie. That can be an area maybe he can work on in the years to come.
