Mario Lemieux made the playoffs one time in his first 6 seasons.....different eras I know but I’m going to say there is still hope for McDavids career....now mind you this will only happen if Katz cleans house and gets a management team that can actually build a winning team

It’s all good....point being once Mario finally got a good team around him he never looked back...same could happen with Connor

This is a team that desperatly needs to make a couple of big trades to get leadership and chemistry which they sorely lack. The Oilers have been losers way to long that it has become their culture. They have to get players from teams with winning records and not just 4th liners. They have to part with 3 or 4 of their so called difference makers to shake things up and get players with winning attitudes or it will be another disappointing season.
