For all of my Russian player evaluations I seek the advice of one Adam French.

Adam, how bad is Korshkov, and who the (frank) is this Yelshinkov (spelling?) guy? I’ll hang up now, thanks.

The fact that Andersen got hurt in the first place should be a warning sign to Babcock / Dubas that they need a reliable back-up who can play more often. From now to the playoffs, Andersen should definitely be given more rest, more frequently. The last thing they can afford is for Andersen to get re-injured or be worn out by the playoffs.

Probably from somebody who was right that the Leafs overwork Andersen.

Yelesin, 22, went undrafted and is in his second season with Lokomotiv. The 5’11”, 192 lb. defenseman is right-handed and has been compared for former NHLer Darius Kasparaitis because of his toughness and penchant for throwing hits.

Mr. Low Bridge.

I have a feeling the new guy will be more like Whereius Casperlightis

He got hurt in practice. Should probably let him rest instead of practice.

They still have the all star break and the team bye week. Lots of rest.

Now this should teach Dubas about letting a sure thing McBackUp go when you're in your window to compete.

Followed by dozens of games where he's going to be facing 40+ shots a night.

Probably because they know their goalies suck. They have a tendency to stop doing that when Andersen plays. Call it, being lazy. Hopefully they keep the shots down when he comes back but history has shown that they don't.

Probably should keep his regular 500 shots in practice to 450.

451 actually. If my math is correct.

Also they should let the backup take 51% of the shots in warm up instead of 50%. That’ll help.

Maybe Andersen should not drink water before bed? Less trips to the bathroom at night=less tired.

Hmm so many options. I’m sure the Leafs trainers are on it.

Mutual parting for Leafs and McElhinney I think. Proved last year that he was more capable than just a backup. Only fair to let him go. Like Leivo. Dubas could have got a pick though.

No, they tried and couldn't get a pick for him. Doubt he wanted to be waived.

Whatever happened to that Korshkov guy this year anyways and why has he only played 7 games? Injured or healthy scratch?
