What a depressing day.

I would bet that something like this has been brewing all season, since there have been rumors he has not been happy with the front office for months.

He's had a lousy season in comparison to the past few seasons, and there is nobody to replace him that comes even close to his ability level. And so today ends the CBJ's attempt to be an above average team for the foreseeable future. Welcome back to the lottery CBJ fans, I wonder if we can get so low in the standings we can get the #1 pick.

Why the Sharks, Martin Jones is doing what he needs to do.

There's been too many games where Jones couldn't stop a beachball if it was shot at him. I don't know where EK gets his rumors from, But Jones just signed a long(Too long)term contract & the Sharks have Dell who signed a extension last year.

I watched Colorado dominate the Flames last night and still lose. Colorado needs a goalie... I could see them making a run.

Korpi is playing like Bob is playing right now, so it's not too alarming, next year we have Merzlinkis coming in from the Swiss league, he has good numbers, won a few awards over there , he might make some noise.

The season isn't lost....yet, the question we have to ask is '' this incident'' how does it impact the locker room, will his team mates forgive and forget, or is this something awkward and personnel that he can't be in the same room as someone.

It's unfortunate because Bob really looked like someone disciplined that wanted to be a master of his craft. Like you said, his play has fallen off this year and one can wonder if this is all related.

Bob must've been reading Sean Avery's book in the dressing room. Torts didn't like it. Bob asked him "You don't like my book coach?" Torts answered "I guess that's what I'm saying Bobby. Can you get that through your head?"

Bob: "No, I guess not."
Torts: "Well then get the fack outta here then!"

Same thing happened against Winnipeg the other night too.

7 goals against on 21 shots

Last night 5 goals against on 16 shots.

Goaltending hasn't been good for the Avs as of late.

Almost assuredly has to do with playing time. My guess is he was told he wasn't starting tonight and lost it. If memory serves, there were similar issues at the end of his time in Philly. He is not the kind of guy who shares time in net very well. Unfortunately, he's just not been playing up to his salary. He has had moments, even seasons, of brilliance with CBJ and he's carried some really bad CBJ teams...BUT this isn't a bad CBJ team and he's been playing bad. What have you done for me lately?

Most CBJ fans love Bob and what he's done, but also see that he's not really been that good and won't miss him.

Meh. He's not worth the 7 and half million that he's getting now and my guess is he wants a larger contract moving forward. No thanks.

So who wants a goalie?

I've thought that it was the equipment change. There's been a steep increase in goals, and some of the stars aren't doing so hot. I'd give it more time to adjust before assuming these guys are done.

If I’m the flyers I pass on Bob. Great goalie and all, but he wants more than a 2 year deal. This is Hart’s team for the next 10 + years

Some of it might be equipment, but when you watch him play sometimes it's just off. His rebound control has become a major problem, I think.

I think BOB is definitely on the radar for the Isles but they would need to get rid of a goalie and honestly I think Greiss is the man to go. The problem being that if BOB were not to re-sign with the Isles and Lehner a UFA coming off a strong season the Isles could go from 2 good goalies to none very quickly and with no certainty Sorokin is coming over from Russia, be a major hole.

At the end of the day I think the Isles will stick with Greiss and Lehner until the end of the season and then look to add BOB while either trading Greiss or letting Lehner leave.

I know we have Carter Hart waiting to take the reigns, but why not sign Bob to a 2 year deal. Then you can platoon he and Hart.
- CupOnBroadSt.

There's exactly a 0.0% chance of that happening. If the probability of something like this could be negative it would be. Bob demanded out of Philly because he was not willing to sit behind Bryz. He's now a two-time Vezina winner and a solidified, bona fide NHL starting goalie. No chance he signs a short or even mid-term deal to be in a situation where the next great hope is trying every day to earn the starting job and the city and team are rooting for him to do it.

The Calgary Flames are one # 1 goalie away from being IMO a cup contender and a dominant force in the pacific for a long time! Bob would be a solid fit in Calgary! Not sure what the Flames would give up but they at least got to be inquiring about him!

Good luck with that. I'm not buying the hype on this kid yet, given Philly's history with goalie development.

I think that Florida could use him. They should be a far better team than they are at this point. Lu is hurt too often & showing his age. And well Reimer.....
