Had just posted in previous blog before this one popped up. I'll repost:

I would like to know what the sitch is with Bobrovsky and barring anything unseemly about what's going on there - I would go hard after him.

Big time.

Blues would solve a whole lotta problems with some veteran, dependable goal tending.

I think it could be addition by subtraction

If you can get Bob and its not a big issue with him as far as what is happening in Cbus you get him

But they have to take Allen and you can give them a prospect or two

See how the money works out

Bobrovsky has played worse than Allen since Christmas, and has Jake Allen in January type meltdowns every time he makes playoffs. He's not the solution to Blues problems.

Yes, even if it means just getting BOB for the rest of the year and he walks in UFA.

Start fresh with goaltending in 2019-2020.

Bob is superior in the regular season. I'd take that the rest of the way and subtract Allen's contract.

Gunny's been really solid when not injured.

He's a Ufa. Not a huge loss.

Hold off on going for Bob. Try to sign him as a fa this offseason. If he signs then try to flip Allen somewhere. No use giving up a lot just to barely not make the playoffs and lose our 1st round pick this season.

Blues have played better as of late but have so many inconsistencies in their play to warrant a true push

If Tarasenko did request a trade would you do Tarasenko and Allen for Bob plus prospects/picks. Maybe that would entice Panarin to stay? Might be able to get a haul if that convinces him to stay??

If he is healthy I would consider resigning him as a serviceable 5-7 dman with letting Jbow walk. He'd sign relatively cheap and allow us some room to let younger guys grow

I doubt we can trade our first, belongs to BUF (top 10 protected). Not sure if we are allowed to trade it in that case, but at any rate, there's no way wed give up a top ten pick for rental Bob

With the way Bouw is trending, he might fetch a nice little return at the deadline.

I wasn't saying we'd trade our 1st. No use to push and miss the playoffs and lose our 1st cause we are not in the bottom 10 of the league. I don't see us making up enough ground this year and we'll probably be able to keep our pick this year. If we push hard we could risk losing it for nothing

I agree, he is better in the regular season. This regular season, he is still below average. This month, he is even worse than Allen.

Columbus isn't going to just take Allen to do us a favor. Blues would need to outbid other teams for Bobrovsky independent of including Allen, then add a first for them to take Allen in the deal. Just doesn't make sense given where the Blues are this season.

I don't know if that's true.

Columbus is in a race. Only way Columbus gets a solid return for Bob would be a sign and trade or if one of the big teams going for the Cup loses a goalie.

You think it will be easy to move Allen if yet another back up outplays him?

Another well played game.

Going to be interesting to see how they do if Steen is away.

Something is just off about this team that doesn't make sense.

For use as a backup yeah. Not as a starter. We'd probably have to eat some contract as well

I'm of the opposite mind, I trade for him now if I can.

Once he gets here, you get him to take to the fans and the organization and you have six months of exclusive negotiating rights to him that no one else has and you don't have to bid against other teams.

I agree. I think getting Bob and then if somehow they could resign him to a 3-5 year deal could be just the change this organization needs. His recent struggles aside the Blues haven't had a goaltender of that quality in 20 plus year.
