There's an unreasonable amount of angst about the free agent Hextall acquired because of the Flyers' gaping hole at LW. He's producing as well as you could expect given his lack of PP1 time. With Giroux back at center, the hole would be extra gaping without JVR. - Feanor
He's underachieving this year.
And even when he achieves like people "know" he can he's only a 0.45 gpg (0.75 ppg). Big woop. And he doesn't do that often. And he brings nothing to the table other than that, so when that's missing he's useless.
I don't care for players like that. |

depends on the players and picks. Andersson would be a nice mentor for Hart...why the hate? he's still pretty good. - landros 2
Lemme clarify..
If the names Frost, Sanheim, Patrick, Provorov or TK are involved in that deal I lose my mind. |

I'd rather offer him 10m per in the offseason than give up 3 1st rounders+ - Glak18
Just to follow up:
I called Comcast yesterday at 4:50, 10 minutes before shift ended. I told a lady what was up, and she just told me that someone in customer solutions would get me set up. Called the dude up, told him what I wanted, and he gave me exactly the package I wanted. Took maybe 10 minutes total.
Of course, the lady I spoke to at 3PM was stone cold and told me she couldn't do a damn thing for me. |

I love Stone and would like to acquire him but that is basically giving up Simmonds, Farabee and a 1st round pick for Stone. Too rich for my blood. - MJL
It’s a lot. I’m prob pulling the trigger on a signed stone. Time to trade this acquired quantity for real quality
It’s a shame Ottawa is a sham of an organization. He’s the perfect to lead their youngsters |

Stone will require the selling of a key asset not named Simmonds or Raffl. No thanks - StepfordSam

Trading for Mark Stone would be a step in the right direction, you can't sit on your hands and wish and hope for all these kids. You can get assets back for Simmonds and even trade Jake in the offseason if you'd like. Shakes up the core, adds a great player, and whatever assets/players you get form Jake Simmer. |

Would we consider Duchene, Stone, and Anderson for Voracek, Lindblom, Myers, Nuevirth, Conditional 2020 1st if both Duchene and Stone resign, lottery protected. And Flyers have to be able to talk to players before deal is done to see if they are willing to resign.

He could also be a great leader for our youngsters moving forward. But it’s tough, it would cost a lot.

Can someone give me the rundown on Mark Stone and why he is a good addition to pursue? I don;t know much about him other than he has a very good shot and has sniped a few goals on us. I don;t know about his game overall. Speed, hands, d, leadership... Anyone? Serious question. I would like more insight. Looking at his stats he hasn't played more than 80 games in a season and has been around 20 goals and 60 points the past few years. |

I could see them including Frost....although that would shoot my Vorecek theory down the poopter. I don’t see any of those other guys being involved. I guess we’ll see what moves Fletcher makes. I just think a signed/Stone would be a step in the right direction. |

We know JvR can play around the net. - MJL
That's my issue, he is good around the net when someone else does all the work to get him the puck...it's when he is not around the other teams net is when he hurts the team. |

Amac has been skating with the team and began practicing and is now day 2 day. Really no reason for Myers to come up for 1 or 2 games. - Tfaehner

Myers and Aube-Kubel, on the other hand, are young pieces who not only could potentially provide upgrades now, but also need to find places with the big club over the long-term. Both are performing well at the lower level — no AHL defenseman has been more productive offensively at 5-on-5 than Myers, while Aube-Kubel is the best play-driver on the Phantoms. Moreover, the players in their roles with the Flyers — Varone has mostly played center but it wouldn’t be difficult to drop Scott Laughton to 4C and move Raffl up to the third line to accommodate NAK — aren’t exactly blowing the doors off, so call-ups do make a degree of sense. |

He's still one-dimensional and not really doing a good job in that one dimension. He's got a whopping two goals and one assist in his last five games. - Scoob

What I am noticing is it seems people are assuming this year is different than previous years so they base their opinion on his basic stats to justify him. The problem is he had a career year of 36 goals last year, CAREER year, and Leafs fans wanted him gone as soon as possible. I guess they were just jelly of his awesomeness.
That's the problem people can't accept, he is not having a down year. This is how he played last year, but he happened to have 36 goals. |

Phil Varone has been with the big club for a while. He was the AHL MVP last season. |
