I think we may be at the point where we appreciate anyone defender that was marginally competent on defense. - Pete V

1989. I was 19 and sick of working on that truck. So much fun when it ran. |

You missed the "marginally competent" phrase.
Don't forget Rosy won a cup in Chicago and didn't play badly. That NYR defense was poope. |

Yea people forget he was forced to be our top d man for a few years. He played the most minutes against other teams top players. I really didn't hate him as much as others. |

Nah, he wasn't a first pair guy, but was probably the best guy we had for a while. That's why he was better in Chicago. Frustrating while he was here though. |

I think everyone was frustrated with him at points, one way or another
but you sure do look back and appreciate a force like him in the lineup when the team is so bad like it is now
I appreciate Nash and McDonagh right now as much as I ever did - jimbro83
Nash was great, just not a clutch player. I firmly believe the Rangers really did over achieve these last 10 years due to Hank. We never had any caliber player that the Kings, Hawks, Lightning, Pens, and even Preds have. We had no business going as deep as we did. |

I am as big a Hank fan as there is, but, 2014-15 the Rangers won the President's trophy and Hank had that throat injury and missed half the season, there was more than just Hank |

I'm not used to it like you people are. I normally would have no issue with these temps back when I worked outside all day but now I'm in a cushy office job.

I miss Bruce Driver - mdw7413
My buddy works in a hospital that Driver was doing a fund raiser at because his boss is a big Devils fan. When he saw Driver in the hallway, he commented about his time on the Rangers and Driver signed a puck with '95 Cup just to rub it in. |

Flatley and Goneau. Hands down the best D-pairing since Leetch and Beuk. |

Yea the loss against Tampa in that ECF was our only legit shot. Again, we never had talent to really compete with those teams. A lot was AV's system that worked real well early on. We needed another star to play with Nash |

Nash originally was brought in to pair with Gaborik. Gabby became Brassard etc. |

i did like the richards, gabby, nash line. Only issue was that Nash at the time was the only one living up to the hype |

I hated seeing Gaborik traded but the sum of those parts ended up being pretty decent. It really stung when he was damn near the Conn Smythe the year he won the cup. |

I don't know, you can make the argument that they kind of blew the series against the Kings. Multiple two goal leads in the first two games of that series, and that BS goalie interference call in Game 2. But, those two years were definitely their best shots. It was a good run, just sucks that they weren't able to finish one of those runs.

if they win game 7 vs Tampa, they go into the finals without McDonagh
it would have been some tall order to pull that off, Yandle probably plays 25 minutes a night at minimum, but they would have had home ice in the finals, something that would have helped vs the Kings |
