That Rielly freeze pass to Tavares, great stuff. Not a number 1 defenseman, what a joke.
- Blazed

According to NHL.com, Reilly is leading the Norris race. Still not good enough for the all star game.

Confirmed, SS Ronny Brito is listed as a C prospect at 15, and RHP Andrew Sopko not in the top 20

This trade will make the Lansing Lugnuts so much better.

It's a fair price for a backup catcher.

Who is paid $18 million more than your average backup catcher.

Brito has a lot of potential, as he is only 20 years old.. Now, we have like seven SS prospects.

Danny Jansen and Reese McGuire are on their own now I guess..

He's not as good as he once was, and that salary is no longer the Jays problem.

Plus they needed to make a roster spot for that pitcher they just signed.

Every team likes to load up on SS prospects. A good one is hard to find, and they're easily covetable to a base position.

Hope Martin can win in LA. Don't see many nicer guys than him. Good luck Russ.

Also, where's this news on Freddy, by all accounts I've read he's good to go Sat.

For some reason Babs isn't answering my txts.

That's where he started, so it will be like a homecoming of sorts.

I hope he does well, and I hope things go well for him. I like Martin. He wasn't going to help the Jays anymore, but maybe with the right environment, he can rebound. He's not that old.

Freddy, at the earliest, is against Colorado on Monday. He said it in a clip on TSN.

I get that part, it's a relatively easy transition from SS to 2B or 3B, but at this point, we have Brito, Bo Bichette, Logan Warmoth, Urena, Gurriel (although, he'll be starting SS this year), Emerson Jimenez, Santiago Espinal and Kevin Vicuna

Looked like Marner was pissed off at Hyman for touching the puck as it was going in the net.

Is it really that much of a problem? In baseball, minor league players are fairly disposable. If any don't fit they can easily be traded or released.

I don't think it's a problem, I think depth is a good thing to have.. I just wish they would trade for other position players.

Shapiro said that the Jays would be built to compete in 2020, so there's time.

"Compete" sure... but compete for what? 4th place in the AL East?
