Just a monotone zero personality voice. Exactly what you don’t want to call a hockey game and why does she have to state the obvious every time.

He actually made some big saves. Give the guy a bit of credit.

Especially early when it mattered and more importantly, the one goal was not a softy. The Flames need him to come around so nice to see him have a good game

i don't think hes capable of coming around. He will have the odd stretch of good games here and there. He played solid last night for sure. Johnny 2nd in scoringg!

Smith has played like crap. Never really rebounded from his injury.

I say give him a couple more games to see how he does and then decide if he can be a backup or not. I hope he can.

Agreed - he played well, made some big stops, played the puck a little like we're used to seeing and was dialed in last night.

Big win for Smitty, hopefully a kick in the confidence pants...

Brett Ritchie on the block according to TSN - bit of a "meh", but could be a big body 13th forward for playoff time?

Definitely wouldn't mind this... should that not work out, thinking Ritchie might be a fallback position? TSN makes it sound like the guy is close to being waived, if that happens, I'd take a free look at that one if I'm BT. Otherwise, send them a 4th and if we can get Ferly to boot, we'd have some weight on the 3rd and 4th lines with some (historical in the case of Ritchie) scoring touch...

Big question will be what to do with the Real Deal's minutes if the Flames do gear up and he's not a part of any deals made... Hell, at this point, might be Ferland for Neal and a 2nd... lol

Neal's been playing pretty well lately and is getting chances, the guy just can't buy a goal right now. He isn't useless out there and he's gotten a couple of points lately which might mean he's finally coming around. Plus I think he's a big part of the leadership group the Flames have that I've heard several people say is really good, and his playoff experience could be huge for this team.

Granted, if all the team wants from him is goals then yeah he certainly hasn't been there and he might be on the move because of it, but I think he brings a lot more than that.
