All of this “trade Gustafsson” talk - he is, I think, the first “QB” who’s run a successful PP in...how many years?
- StLBravesFan

I'm not necessarily against trading Gus, but he does lack defensive qualities. It's great he is helping improve the power play, however between him , Keith and Seabrook one would think that with 9 defenseman and a good young crop down in Rockford somebody is possibly getting moved.

Sure rutta trade allowed Chicago to get a young defenseman and move 2 spots up in the draft, but it's not like rutta had more term left.

I would agree strome has been a solid addition and will only improve his game and confidence with more time but so far he was a perfect guy to acquire

I just wish Perlini would ve taken the fresh start and made a better impression and shown improvements .

Pretty sure most've us do, but as someone mentioned previously, maybe he can't.

I listened to the podcast too, and have comments, but I'll keep those to myself.

I like Panarin a lot, and wouldn't mind him back on a deal that's good for the hawks, but I just don't see that happening. Going off of what I heard, Arty (lw for now) "who isn't meant to be with the hawks for much longer" could open up a spot for him. Adb could be with Toews and Panarin back with Kane. This is a slim chance of slim chances of happening.

For trading Saad, I'm not sure he'll get you a top d man, but trading him opens up another spot for Panarin. "As a third line 6 mil player is too much" and I agree. He's good on the pk, needs to drive the net every game, 200 ft game, and a down year but not like last year's enigma. There's some good with some bad in a streaky player, so I'm not sure he gets a top 4 d man.

- I Am The Breadman

I believe that there has to be something with him coming back here. He hasn't signed an extension in CBJ (yet?). And if he's traded, will he sign an extension at that point? I think he hasn't been traded because they know he probably won't sign an extension. He loved playing with Kane and vice versa. I think he signs with the Hawks, hopefully on a good contract. Just some pure conjecture here. But I would love to see him back here.

Stan will still have a lot of cap space with those trades for free agency. Keith and Saad would be off the books with a D man and kapanen on the books.

Maybe Saad and Forsling could bring a good defenseman in a deal.

- scott.jackson

Maybe saad and forsling in a package deal to Edmonton for nurse and Jesse P and their 1st.

He had what 17 goals last season I believe? In your opinion do you see Stan resigning him in the off season to see if their is potential or do you think Stan let's him walk?

If Stan can move saad and Keith he would then be able to target 2 top 6 guys with the amount of cap space opened up. Anismov I'm sure will be moved makes no sense to keep him with him being 31 years old and not part of the solution.

I understand.

Me too, it's just not the part of the hawks game that needs to be fixed.

Keith isn't being traded. And if he is, the Hawks would probably have to spend the same or more to replace him.

Signing UFAs at this time would be foolish, imo. It would put the Hawks back into cap hell with a kinda crappy team.

Probably that one. With the cap going up, that instantly means aav goes up too.

I have hope for him, because I liked him in the playoffs. I just questioned the injury, and the article added fuel to that fire. Agree, he won't last long on the boards, hahaha!!! You have him paired with Seabs, you're opening the door for verbal skewers.

Many here have been trying to trade me to another board for years....I am used to it.

Think Trevor Daly when thinking of KOO KOO. As a comparable. Yes KOO KOO has lots to prove, but that is the type of player.

Speaking of coo coo...wonder how many Pirri gets tonight?

- TrueGrit

You mean Wayne Pirri? My guess is he'll be on the ice for more goals against than he's on for and be on the bus in the morning to Albuquerque or wherever it is the rest of his fan club resides.

Hahahaha!!

I wouldn't trade you to another board, because the whole devil you know ordeal....we might get someone worse.

I would ask for future considerations, and a grilled cheese. Haha.

Who would you rather have the young D learning from..Keith or some rando is who has no feel for the uniform? People seem to forget Keith was here for some pretty dark days. He knows the story and I don't buy all the BS that has been spewed about him not caring. Its easy to mistake frustration for lack of giving a poop. Believe me, I have done it far too many time myself when evaluating players.

Their was never and will never be a better time to move Keith than now.

Teams that have serious interest in Keith are Edmonton, Toronto and Vegas .

This team right now isn't going to win a championship or rebuild the way it needs to by holding onto a player who is 35 years old with 4 more years locked in and it's clear from his attitude a change of scenery would benefit him and the team.

Seabrook as bad as his contract is he is a better overall leader and has a better attitude.

Edmonton and Toronto can't afford him in the long run. Keith controls where he goes and its my belief he is far more loyal to the Hawks organization than many believe. What do you know about his attitude but what you and others have speculated on here. He was right. The NHL isn't a developmental league.

Keith has a negative attitude time for him to go.

Seabrook has a better attitude and is more of a leader than Keith . Let's not forget who actually reminded the captain during the playoffs during the Detroit game it was Seabrook.
As much as I hate his contract he seems to be more of what's needed in the mentoring department than Keith's cheap comments .
