All of this “trade Gustafsson” talk - he is, I think, the first “QB” who’s run a successful PP in...how many years?
- StLBravesFan

Gus is not the QB of the PP, Kane is. The puck goes through Kane every time they have it, Kane handles the zone entry, and handles almost all of the passes that set up shots.

Gus may do a good job getting his shot through, but he is not the QB.

Slater Koekkoek was at morning skate, but will not make his #Blackhawks debut tonight vs. Vegas.

Jeremy Colliton indicated Henri Jokiharju could play left side. Collin Delia starts in net.

Visa problem getting from TB the CHI during the partial government shutdown. Should take 4-5 days.

Well, Keith is still the best D-man on the team and will be for the next couple of seasons. So, there is that.
- Elbows15

Absolutely correct. And I want Jokiharju partnered with Duncan, and learning everything he can from him. I believe Jokiharju is the next Blackhawk 1D.

Koekkoek will be wearing #68. Wore #29 in Tampa and in juniors but the great Martinsen stands in his way. He did wear #65 for a bit in juniors, too.

As long as he didn’t take #61. Save that for Stone.

He could've taken 4, and become our greatest warrior defenseman.........

Save for Stone, hahaha!

Didn’t know you needed a visa to get from Florida into Illinois.

I am actually amazed that Stan was able to offload Manning and Rutta for more than spare Ambon I parts and no retained salary.

Watching this right now, good game. Boqvist had a nice pass for the primary assist on first Lindon goal. Later did a step through into the slot for a good chance but shot high.

Offense is almost ready and you can see why they considered keeping him for the start of the season this year. A little time in the AHL to work on defense and he can plug right in to the lineup.

- totem

I watched the second half of that game -did not know it was televised. The more I see of Bouchard the more I wish we had taken him over Boqvist.

The PP has been markedly better since Gus has been on it. And yes the puck goes thru him a lot.

But by all means get out the discount metrics....jeez

Not taking anything away from what Keith has done in the past, but that is debatable.

If it is true, it isn't good for the Hawks.

They need to stop having to lean on him so much, because he isn't one of the elite anymore as he approaches age 36.

He is still a top 4 guy, but he isn't a #1 or #2 on a good blue line anymore. The path forward for the Hawks isn't with #2 or #7 being the top guys anymore. That era has passed.

- breadbag

We'e not disagreeing here. I know what you are saying but as of right now, Keith is their best D-man. Like you, I hope he soon becomes the 3rd or 4th best.

Some perspective. Bouchard is 2 years older.

I already don't like the Seabrook - Jokiharju pairing - get Joki back on the right side

Yeah I really dont get that. Developing a young d-man at the pro level and they play him on his off side? Gotta stop doing this self-destruction crap.

As Burrish said - maybe just giving him some experience on his off-side.
