Good job Dahlstrom to lose your guy, and Delia not stopping a non-shot. We got a point. - I Am The Breadman
Are we Still 5 points out of a playoff spot? Lol |

I think that was an example why coaches usually play their more mobile Dmen in OT. Dahlstrom doesn't have the foot speed for it IMO. It's too bad JC doesn't like to play Jokiharju that much, I think he would have been a better choice to take an OT shift. |

They were really bad the final 4 minutes. Then ot, possession is great, when you're in the offensive zone. - I Am The Breadman
Third period - SAT 8-26, SOG 5-12, SC 1-12.
One SC in the third. |

Why have Kampf take that FO? Put Toews in for it - swap him out when (if) he wins it.
Delia has to stop that. |

Hahaha, collapses like that show how embarrassed we'll be if we sneak in. |

And get him off of his off-side. Experiment over.
Agree, Dahlstrom is slow. |

Outworked all period, couldn't win the puck, fortunate to clear the zone.
Lucky to find a point. |

They had 2 points until about 4:00 left. Too bad they lost a point is the way you (all of us) should look at it. |

That's how I feel, PE! It was a great game until then. |

It was a great game for 39 minutes - until VGK scored their 2nd.
After that - complete domination by Vegas.
A young team always needs to learn how to close out games - and this one certainly does.
At least they’re giving themselves a chance to win - last 5 losses have been by one goal (one with an ENG) against quality teams. |

And not being down 1 or 2 goals in the opening minute is really helping. They are close, but still not all quite there for 60 minutes. But giving quality teams a hard time, in 1 goal games, that is huge. |

Jokiharju with only 12:39 TOI, less than Seabrook's 15:20. I really don't get it.
and, of course, Delia, who up until then had been consistently dropping to his knees too early, lets in the GWG through the five hole. |

We lost 9 games in O/T.. Tops in the league. It seems like we get outshot in the third 9 out of 10 games ...This team does not have a third gear in the third period.... Fuel tank empty for most of the players. |

Did not understand that last grouping in OT. Any of it.
I am past judging the now. This team does have compete, even if they don't have enough personnel to compete.
What is the future? That is the question. I see enough to give me some hope, and I didn't have that in the immediate aftermath of the Q firing. |

That would require Rob to have a glass half full mentality...and I'm pretty sure that's never happened. |

vegas is a very good team and tough to beat regulation...hawks blew a 2-zip and 3-1 leads
1. did not force much zone time
2. gave up their usual 35 plus shots
3. and their usual numerous high quality chances
4. 5 of the last 6 giving 3 or regulation: 1-2-3
5. 34 of 47 games giving up 3 or in regulation and that's with really good goal tending.
until they figure out how to play defense, get a puck possession game going and increase shot suppression they will continue to be a bottom dweller no matter what kane, tooews, cat et al do offensively. |

that last shot was deflected off of dahstrom tough for a goalie to adjust to that; besides his game is to take away low scoring chances (like most goalies)
I really like his game on halfway decent defensive team he would be winning those games he is losing with the hawks...

Tough loss ,for me to close and frustrating .Such signs of improvement are a killer . Just not there yet, and time running terrible short . Must wins next two ,or it's over as far as this year .May be time to play Ward ,I am not sure why Forsberg was given up on right out of camp ,he was the better Pre season goalie .. GO HAWKS !!!!!!! |
