YOU LIED TO US!!! WHO IS THE TYLER CAMERON?!?! I DON'T KNOW WHO TO TRUST ANYMORE ON THIS WELL REPUTED SITE

Ha. I know. There's not much in Rockford right now. Need Matthew Highmore to get healthy to take his spot.
- Justin Lowe

Is he going to be able to come back this year? I though when he first got hurt it was more than likely he was going to be out the rest of the year, but I feel like this is at least the second time someone has brought him up where it felt like they meant he could be back before the end of the year

Funny some think AA is injury prone. He' missed 5 games his first year, 18 games (broken leg I believe) in year 2, and 10 games last year. Besides the broken leg, he hasn't missed much for a hockey player.
- Assman22

Yeah I think people hang onto that idea since that was part of his reputation when we traded for him four years ago lol

Your break down was well appreciated. I did a simple math equation just to let you know. As of now the word on next year's cap is 82 million and I wouldn't hold my breathe for it to rise any higher than that based on the article I read.

Now if you look at what's coming of the books and the meager 2.5 million increase

I think it's fair to say Stan enjoys having cap space for any in season moves which I believe he will want next year to see how this team responds and if any changes can be made to improve them even more.

Ok chicago will have around 21 244 872million give or take to use to sign any UFAS RFA

When you look at the guys whom Chicago might target this team will need an additional 5 to 8 million either a panarin, stone, Skinner, Duchene, Matthews, marmer, laine .

9 million is a starting point but Chicago (stan) if he wants to be serious and not lose out in a bidding war because he is playing with a bad hand not enough cash then .

Ansimov and Keith at a minimum need to get moved out.

Also the goalie situation will be a concern again next year , Crawford IMO is done or best case will need to play backup role if he even can come back.

Questions for the thing:

1. 36 games left. Over or under if set at 75 to finish year? They're at 40 now.

2. How good is Patrick Kane and can he extend his career like Martin St Louis?

3. Do you play with free agency or burn one more year? Or what are the circumstances where you spend this summer if there are any?

4. Duncan Keith looks abhorrent. Age or attitude?

1. Over. The most recent projection from The Athletic had them at 80 pts., just missing the .500 mark. I say they get to 82.

The 3 years he has been here he has had injuries each year that is the definition of injury prone.

"Look at that lineup and try not to get hard."

Add Jack Hughes to the mix as well

And still have $5M in cap to play with.

huh? you're kidding right?

the year before the hawks got him he missed 30 games with Columbus due to a torn triceps, he also missed something like 8 games in the shortened 2013 season with a head injury

sure he may not be injured for long periods of time every year, but he's hardly been a consistently healthy player throughout his career

Why $13-15Million to cover any of them? McDavid tops the league at a $12.5 cap hit, maybe Matthews gets close to that, none of the others do. Panarin probably maxes out around $8.5-9 mil, Skinner, Stone and Duchene less.

Stone and Panarin ...... I do not see that happening. Kane, Toews, Panarin, and Stone = 41 mil. Add in the nearly 20 mil for Saad, Keith, and Seabs.

Haha. You get that by having a backend that has 3 players still on their rookie deals. $7,394,962 between 6 defensemen

That's if Seabrooks contract magically disappears.

Hahaha yeah I can't say that I see that happening next year, butI mean, it's possible IF they can convince someone to take Crow off our hands for one year to be place on LTIR (looking at you AZ and OTT; maybe trading Forsling or Sikura COULD be a way to make that happen) then I could see them being 110% a legit player in FA next year. I already think their plan/goal is to sign Panarin back and have him sign at a slight discount to what other teams (looking at you New York...both of you) would be willing to pay for him.

For the rest of the roster, I'd think that Caggiula is playing himself into at least a 4th line role going into next year so I don't see him being traded, and I don't see BOTH Boqvist AND Mitchell making the team next year. One, maybe, but not both. Also, although I've advocated seeing it happen at some point, I wouldn't bank on Kahun being our 3C next year. If Sikura got dealt to clear a roster spot (or is kept and starts off in Rockford) then I would think Kahun would shift over to RW with Saad and possible Kampf plays the 3C role for the meantime while someone like Highmore gets the gig as 4C with a combo of Perlini, Caggiula, Sikura, Hayden.

Dare to dream though lol

I'm not saying that your point is wrong. I'm just looking at this past years signings and they were ridiculous , next year's crop is 10x better and it's just a observation that with the new CBA coming these guys will want to make sure they maximize their salaries.

What we think might happen might be a differnt story .
But I respect what your saying

I made the same point before as well. Matthews and MAYBE Marner are the only ones who really should come close to even 12M per. Like you said, the max I could see any of those guys getting is 10M per and if anyone is willing to go over that then it wouldn't be worth it for our team. Said it before and I'll say it again til I'm blue in the face, Panarin makes the most sense because he could be willing to take a slight discount to come back here.

I agree about Caggiula! What I'm most hyped about that article (an actual possibility) is Boqvist and Joki as a pair!

But it also depends on who is available and willing to come to Chicago also. If Stan can dump saad and Keith then target panarin and stone and land both for 9 million each this team would be a hell of a lot better.

I'll give you the inconsistency of Saad.

Murphy will be the vet behind Keith/Seabs with an inconsistent Gus filled around a bunch of rookies. I do like Joki, and expect big things from him. With a Delia in net, still too early to tell with him. Sounds like the Leafs, a recipe for a good season and no cup.
