I don't see Panarin here, at all, but that's just me.
Stone would be great. So would Duchene or even Jordan Eberle.
You HAVE to add to that defence though. You can't plug in Mitchell, Boqvist and Joki and think that you're a playoff team. Take your time with those guys and trade/sign a solid top 4 D.
Also, need a goalie (probably better than Scott Darling). I'm not ready to call Delia the goalie of the future just yet. I really like him but I need to see him do this for the rest of the season. - Justin Lowe
Last thing the Hawks need is another soft perimeter player who disappears for long stretches. He already makes 6M. No way I want the Hawks signing him for anywhere near that cap hit. |

The trade today is such a minor move. Minor upgrade of a draft pick and picked up basically another Rundblad. I don't hate it, but not much to get excited about. - breadbag
I want to like it, because I liked Slater (healthy) but I'm in agreement with you. |

I can't understand why he wants to trade drake ? I like that kids game and energy and his cap friendly deal. - Taylorst1
Cause he is the very definition of replaceable? Johnson can do the same thing theDrake can and be cheaper. |

Bowman clearing the deck to go snipe hunting at TDL. Take on bad contract to garner picks/RFAs teams will have a hard time re-signing. |

I want him to do that, but I don't see him doing that. I'd love to be wrong though. |

If I am Bowman, I walk away from this guy and Perlini. Neither are worth an increase in celery. They both kinda suck anyway. |

Ya I like AA on Kane line ,gives it much better defensive awareness .I understand the trade AA and all ,think him playing on a good line can only heighten his value .I think he could get ya a 2nd & prospect or a late 1st easy . |

I have no issue if they move AA but he is one of the far too few who goes to the net on a consistent basis. |

I honestly just saw that, and was about to ask if that was a good comparable. Haha. This TC guy is a lot quicker to the draw than JL, haha. - I Am The Breadman
There paths are the similar. Both has small sample sizes however, so more chapters to read in their books. Interested to see how Delia fares with more playing time. |

There was talk earlier that JC said he was wanting to try Joki on his offside to expand his game and versatility. Either way the idea of having both those guys and possible Mitchell and Beaudin all on the backend - Savetheembers33
Not a fan of putting Boqvist and Jokiharju together even if one was a natural LHD. Balance each out with a natural LHD whether that's current ones (Keith, Dahlstrom, Gustafsson, Forsling) or potential ones (Beaudin, Carlsson, Hillman, Krys).
Also, I don't think it's a good idea to have Boqvist play his opposite side if he's still raw playing in his own end. If he was a defensive wizard, then yes, see if he can take his game to another level by being versatile enough to play either side. But his defense isn't strong yet so why make him develop that primary aspect of his position on his unnatural side. |

I've viewing it as Stan traded away a 7th round pick for a 5th round pick. #winning |

Ohh nice yeah I'd love to see him get another shot as the 4C before the end of the year to see if he could possible stick there. If he plays well and AA gets dealt I could very well see Toews-Strome-Kampf-Highmore as our Center depth next year which I wouldn't complain with while we see if they can be legit next year or not (then possible go out at the TDL and get a solid 3C and bump Kampf down) - Savetheembers33
I would also like to see how Highmore would fare as a 4C candidate. He has the speed, tenacity, and defensive awareness while also ability to contribute some opportune scoring.
Having Kampf and Highmore as future bottom 6 centers is okay but not ideal, IMHO. I see both as 4Cs who can play 3C if needed. I would much rather have a 3C who has more offensive talent like a Dzingel, Coyle, or Nelson. Think that is what you are advocating, too, at the end of your post. |

Stan at it again.
I like this move a lot. I've always liked Slater Koekkoek and thought he never really got a good look in Tampa Bay.
He's a former 1st rounder as well (10th overall).
Let's see if a change of scenery helps Slater out... just like it appears to have with Strome. - Justin Lowe

Agree, next year won't have both Boqvist and Mitchell on the blueline. High chance that neither of them, too, at least not to start the season.
Natural progression of D pipeline would have Carlsson and Hillman next in line.
This is also where a low AAV, 1-2 year UFA signing of an experienced D veteran like a Stralman would make sense to buy time for the prospects to develop at a healthy rate. |

I just said in a pm that Rutta could be traded. Very nice, Stan. That was a decent guy I liked in TB. He played us well, but so did all of TB.
Thanks, embers, for the update. - I Am The Breadman
Tampa will win the cup now. The last 3 cups were given to teams that traded for an AHL chi defensemen |

Assuming the Lightning win the Cup this year, that pick will be the last one in the 5th round. Overall pick #155. |

Maybe Stan was upset that you included Rutta on your Hawks prospect list. |
