I listened to the podcast too, and have comments, but I'll keep those to myself.

I like Panarin a lot, and wouldn't mind him back on a deal that's good for the hawks, but I just don't see that happening. Going off of what I heard, Arty (lw for now) "who isn't meant to be with the hawks for much longer" could open up a spot for him. Adb could be with Toews and Panarin back with Kane. This is a slim chance of slim chances of happening.

For trading Saad, I'm not sure he'll get you a top d man, but trading him opens up another spot for Panarin. "As a third line 6 mil player is too much" and I agree. He's good on the pk, needs to drive the net every game, 200 ft game, and a down year but not like last year's enigma. There's some good with some bad in a streaky player, so I'm not sure he gets a top 4 d man.

Like they said last night we have an abundance of D prospects so bundle one with Saad and get a top 4 dman. You can then trade Keith to Toronto and get Kapenen to play top 6. That would be a cheaper way to go than signing a UFA.

I like that line of thinking, but which d prospect? It will be an area of strength, as TC said, but I don't know which prospect we can do without. We need to bring players up before doing that. Now or closer to end of the season. Keith for Kap .... interesting. I definitely agree that trades are cheaper than UFA Day. I'd still like SB to put feelers out and listen to what players want, and say "no" if it's ridiculous for us in the long haul, which it very well could be.

I'll trade Magic Gus in a blow away deal. I think teams might look at Krugs, a good pp come playoffs time is nice, put great pk's win over the pp, imo. Bottom depth and pkers should be sought out more than pp specialists.

Kruger with half of his cap hit retained will have value at the trade deadline.

Slater Koekkoek was at morning skate, but will not make his #Blackhawks debut tonight vs. Vegas.

Jeremy Colliton indicated Henri Jokiharju could play left side. Collin Delia starts in net.

I’m not sure about that, he cleared waivers near the trade deadline last season.

Stan will still have a lot of cap space with those trades for free agency. Keith and Saad would be off the books with a D man and kapanen on the books.

Maybe Saad and Forsling could bring a good defenseman in a deal.

Regarding your last comment to me. You may be right. I have some decent sources around Tampa and was not aware of an issue with SK.

I had always heard he was liked and did well when given a chance, but was frustrated. He will be a positive add here for sure. Tremendous skater with offensive skill. Put him next to Seabrook and it stabilizes that pair.

I expect it will take 3 shifts before many of the GMs on the board will want to trade him for a third...

Think Trevor Daly when thinking of KOO KOO. As a comparable. Yes KOO KOO has lots to prove, but that is the type of player.

Speaking of coo coo...wonder how many Pirri gets tonight?

6th maybe a 5th but thats it. My thinking now that the hawks have over 9 million in cap space i have to think a possible big trade is coming and the hawks taking a big contract back not necessarily a bad contract.

Okay, I got you. That's a good centerpiece for a trade. I don't want to see them gone, but they could fetch a nice return.

I have hope for him, because I liked him in the playoffs. I just questioned the injury, and the article added fuel to that fire. Agree, he won't last long on the boards, hahaha!!! You have him paired with Seabs, you're opening the door for verbal skewers.

My first thought was 4th, third if Stan plays hard ball. Hartman got a lot. He can pull that off again, even if Ejdsell isn't up to snuff in Rock.

Didn't Bollig get a 3rd from CGY?

I think so. Weird they didn't pay more for a bruiser. I hated SB paid him, I think a 1.25x3, then got rid of him shortly after.

Just checked, a 3rd in the 2014 draft.

Tbf, Schmaltz was a draft pick and not a bad one for a what, 20th, 21st pick? I'd hardly call that a mistake.

The mistake would have been signing him to term and $6M this year, but it was never made.

I didn't mind the trade then and like it more now as Strome appears to be a pretty good player. There was a pretty good article on him in the Herald about him and DeBrincat hanging out together, and how maybe they do this summer as well to stay in Chicago to train.

- HawkintheD

I would agree strome has been a solid addition and will only improve his game and confidence with more time but so far he was a perfect guy to acquire

I just wish Perlini would ve taken the fresh start and made a better impression and shown improvements .
