good blog Jan

speaking of faceoffs, I like Boo Nieves, but if he's to become the Ranger 4th line center for the forseeable future, he has to get better on faceoffs

right now he's pretty much awful on them

He looks good in every facet for a 4th liner except f/o's. He actually looks faster this year.

Thanks Jan.
Nice stat for Zib, he needs to be more consistent if he's going to be the true top center. At $5.3 he's someone I would keep unless a heck of a return comes back. Glut of centers is a nice problem to have. All for keeping Hayes as the 2nd center, that puts pressure on the other centers to step it up.

No way Zib becomes a good #1. Way to inconsistent. He will score a bunch of points 1 game, then disappear for a bunch of games. Defense is still below average. Zib is a very good 2nd line center lower tier 1st line center

I'm in the keep Zib AND Hayes camp. Zib is cheap for what he can bring.

Well if its a one or the other, you know where I stand. If they want to keep both, thats fine too. I just don't think Zib or Hayes would be a very good #1 center. They are both great 2nd line centers but below average 1st line centers.

They are going to have to draft one since these guys just don't hit the market.

Considering his price point, I don't think the Rangers will find a better C value than Zibanejad.

Perhaps instead of hunting for a better C, the Rangers should target better wingers which would in turn elevate the play of said C's?

Stone, Panarin, Pavelski, Skinner, etc.

I'd actually be pretty happy with Zibanejad on the Isles as the 2C. Not gonna happen, but that's a guy I think would fill that role well and has a reasonable contract

Hayes is better suited to the 2C role than Zib. Keep both unless a trade or FA 1C presents itself.

Thats fine too, but this team really needs a #1 center eventually. Has there been a team in the last 20 years that has won the SC that you can say didn't have a legit top 10-15 Center in the league?

Better wingers would help, but Zib is no Crysby.

He will go down as one of the best players ever, unsure that’s a fair comparison.

You know how to get it, you're just afraid on how to say it.
