Watching the game last night, it’s hard to point to what will “right the ship”. I’m a Wings fan and noticed that for 2 periods Anaheim closed the nuetral zone and controlled the pace. That’s Carlyle’s game. But, the forecheck doesn’t give what the defense needs. So many teams now do a four man rush and Anaheim can get breaks defending. But, they need a speedy skilled guy to make teams pay.

Anaheim has more man games lost than even the coyotes. That doesn’t help. They should have tried to make a deal for an Athanasiou or even Nyquist. Lots of sellers and Anaheim is still in the mix in a weak division. Detroit needs D, Anaheim needs O. Makes sense

Find someone willing to take on a Kesler or a perry even if it means retaining some cash. Look to one of stone/Duchene or even both if you can make it happen. Trade some of our prospects and get guys that are still in their prime that we can afford. If the price is too high look to Nyquist, Ferland, Kreider or Hayes. A big move/signing needs to happen or kiss the season goodbye. If we don’t see something showing a commitment to correcting this, fire Carlyle and Murray. Time for a new direction.

So... when are you guys blowing up the roster... and how cheap are Ritchie and Kase going for?

Also... on here Kase is listed as a LW, but I see some sites putting him as a RW... which is it, or is he able to play both?

I don't think Randy Carlyle is personal to Bob. At least his working relationship isn't. Bob just has a certain way of doing things. Like he signed Randy to a 2 year contract with a 3rd optional. Typically 3 years is a minimum coaches want to make there mark on the team. And think Bob is honoring agreement.
Now I don't think Carlyle will be the coach next year but sometimes being this way is just the right way to do things. It's called being classy. Or as some would say doing things the right way.
Now if firing Carlyle would have saved the season or if the players had come out aginst Randy I think Bob would have done something. But this team is flawed. And no coaching change would have helped that.

Kase has played both. And I don't think he's available. Neither is Ritchie. But if it's part of a package that gets us a better top line foward then I'd say they be able to move in a deal.

12 losses in a row for a team that had over 100 points last year... No one should be untouchable with the GM about to enter full panic mode.

Well. Wouldn't some argue its a fluke? And that a team that had 100 points plus would rebound?

We're losing because us fans haven't been repenting enough! Next home game, everyone bring your whip and self-flaggelate to turn the ship, and maybe get carlyle fired!

Yep, should be seen as quite an oddity... but teams have blown it up and made stupid trades for a lot less losses in a row.

Ducks put Silf and Kesler on injured reserve and called up some kids (Terry, Jones) from San Diego.

Carlyle will not be back next year. Assume Eakins will take over.

Lmao. I want to see the graph again where this franchise flies off a cliff after hiring Carlyles.

What a shame.

Cam Fowler for Wayne Simmonds

But for real - time for Bob Murray to go.... He's got to be held accountable for the mess he's created.

Kick Carlyle to the curb too... And Palumbo, it's BS the Ducks writer on this blog is the same as the Sharts...

Terry and Steel should have never been sent down, both of 'em were NHL ready at the start of the season. Randy did Steel no favors keeping him on the 4th line, when he would get PP time surrounded by players with higher skill sets he was dangerous. I would have liked to seen him audition on the wing in the top 6, kid has a small frame and maybe center won't be his niche with the big club (like Rakell). I'm also critical of Randy's audition with Terry, the kid seemed to either play on the top unit with Getz or be sent to the 4th line if not scratched. Give these kids an opportunity to find some chemistry before sending them to the jungle to gain some "confidence". Just saying, this team looked way better with these kids in the line-up (including Comtois) at the beginning of the season.

And why the hell hasn't Sherwood or Gibbons been moved back and forth to SD at all? Sure, they've had their bright moments but they aren't consistent contributors and 4th line grinders at best.

Lol. It's just the NHL's version of the the circle of life.( insert Disney music here). With out Kesler and Perry plus Getzlaf in a slump the team lacks punch. (No pun intended). We have to change things around and start looking towards to future. Terry and Jones have been called up. That will be intresting to see if they can bring a new dynamic to the team. Or maybe Carlyle won't even play them. Who knows. But if he dosen't them are going to be some really aggravated ducks fans.
