Anthony Travalgia: Bruins disappear in Philly After jumping out to an early 2-0 lead, the Flyers stormed back with four unanswered goals en route to a 4-3 victory in Philly Wednesday night.

Hey Flyers have been terrible this year, but that game was far from a "Philly didn't win, Boston lost it" type games.

Flyers actually played better team defense than they have in a long time, blocked TONS of shots and oh that Carter Hart kid stopped everything he had a chance to stop.

I know it's a Boston blog, but c'mon. Give some credit.

The Bruins crushed the Flyers all night long, but couldn't get a save from Halak when they needed it. They out-chanced the Flyers 84-34, they had 42 shots on goal compared to the Flyer's 19. I don't know how much more one sided it could have been. If they played "better team defense," that was because they had to play defense all night.

I think Hart deserves all the credit... he played really well and made a few huge saves early on in the game that I feel won it for the Flyers. But I think it's fair to say it was as much of a "Halak lost the game" as it was a "Hart won the game" kind of scenario.

The power play has been poop lately. What is going on with them. It's like being anywhere near Claude just destroys it.

I don't get why fans piss and moan about team oriented blogs being biased towards the team they're covering. Isn't the national media is supposed to be unbiased? You're literally on a site that has 1,000 times more bias towards your team. It's to the point that the running joke is "Flyers Buzz". Are you actually making that (frank)ing statement dude?

Actually, no it had nothing to do with bias at all. I tend to read all blogs. Just pointed out the fact the blog was only about "how the Bruins lost it and nothing to do with the Flyers". Again if that is the case I could say that about the Flyers with EVERY loss this year.

Let's talk about the Bruins first two goals, they didn't make good plays it was the Flyers who made the mistakes that let it happen, right?

I didn't expect the Flyers to get 100% of the credit for winning of course, they didn't play that well, but after those 2 goals allowed are you telling me the Flyers didn't start getting into shooting lanes and blocking shots? The Flyers actually had players back checking last night, that is rare this year for them.

Now for Hart he played big, calm and made some key saves when needed. So he does deserve most credit for the Flyers. Let's not forget about those chances the Flyers should of buried Patrick, Simmonds and Couturier all had at least a slam dunk they should of had.

Also I didn't say the Flyers "played better team defense THAN the Bruins" I said:

"Flyers actually played better team defense than they have in a long time, blocked TONS of shots and oh that Carter Hart kid stopped everything he had a chance to stop."

Yeah I'll give a team 100 shot attempts a game depending on the quality of shots.

FYI: Shot attempt is not the same thing as a scoring chance.

I am a silly goose. I know how millennials get so upset when their segregated safe space gets interrupted...

Halak was bad, no doubt about it... but I'm not putting this game on him. This one belongs to our top forward line and #1 PP unit. Marchand and Pastrnak in particular. Bergeron gets a pass because he walks on water. Way too many ill-advised passes and horrible decision making from the wings. To be honest, this has been happening a lot with these two. I thought Chara had a rough game as well. His speed was very exposed. Miller made some mistakes, but he has been good outside of last night. I hate that Grzelcyk is sitting tonight for Moore. I'm all for getting Moore in the lineup here and there, but dare I say that maybe the big man should sit? How about that Carlo last night... he looked like a clean shaven / fully toothed Brent Burns out there . All over the ice making plays... just hoping he develops a little finish with that swagger.

While I don't disagree with your assessment, why would you expect a Bruins blogger to know what the usual team defense looks like from the Flyers outside of the general reputation?

I'm not expecting them to know what they looked like compared to previous games, that was my assessment, but by watching the game you can see why they weren't able to score from that abundance of shot attempts.

Then again this is a team that has Edwards as an announcer. I'm sure he blamed every blocked shot on the Bruins.

They weren't able to score because the Bruins biggest problem is they can't score this year... c'mon... give credit where credit is due.

uhhhh....the bruins dominated the game, partly resulting in several bad/unnecessary flyers penalties. they didn't disappear.

the flyers got goaltending and the bruins did not. you saw the real halak, imo.
